As much as I obviously wanted to beat the Hammers into 2nd, I feel the playoffs are once again unfair. They are 10 points clear of 4th. 10 points is massive and it's unfair they have to win a small tournament to go up against teams that haven't performed as well throughout the year. Generally, it's harsh anyway on the team finishing 3rd but there's not quite as much injustice when there's 4 points between 3rd and 6th but 10 points is such a jump. They deserve to go up with us and Reading although my preference would be Blackpool merely for the entertainment they bring! Either way I'll be celebrating long into the night! COYR!!!!
Agree completely mate, top post. Just another case of trying to ensure interest for more clubs, and thus gain funds through TV games and attendances during the money-offs.
I can see the merits of both sides of this argument. Obviously the team in 3rd would feel aggrieved if they don't get promoted and a team below them does, but it does increase the competitiveness of the league and gives more teams a chance.
Exactly! I have nothing against Peteborough but them beating Huddersfield in one game shouldn't have put them up. Hudds were quality and deserved to join us in the Championship! But like you said, it's all for money and Saints almost gained from it a few years back and I wouldn't have complained then!

I would prefer a play-off between the teams in 17th/18th in the Premier and 3rd & 4th in the championship, I seem to recall it was like that when Chelseas got relegated in the late 80's.

Have read the Congrats Southampton on there ( Locked now ) . Don't see anything to argue about , except Sharp Diving ! They are pissed off that they have to play at least 2 more games if they want a chance of promotion , I would be pissed off as well if roles were reversed . Some Praising us , some damming us , so " Bovvered ? " Fair comment IMHO & as some of them said it IS a Hammers site !
