As I'm sure we've all noticed, Robert Koren – or RoKo to some fans – has looked a little disinterested in the past month or so, and certainly hasn't been playing as well as at the start of the season. I'm aware that in January City turned down an approach from an Italian side (Sampdoria or Chievo Verona I think), and I was wondering if any of you thought this may be why his performances haven't been up to much. Is he simply longing for the season to end, to get a move to Serie A? After all, we aren't going down and the Play-Offs are extremely unlikely, so what is he losing by doing the bare minimum (or is he more professional than that)?

i just think its his style. watched a lot of the slovenia v northern ireland game in midweek and he lazed around the middle of the park but still made sure he had an influence on things and had the ability to be near the game throughout.

having said that, i don't think it is out of the question he may go elsewhere in the summer.

Agree with others - think its his style. Watched him playing for Slovenia against Ni on Tuesday and he seemed to play the same way for them.

You do feel that he could give more - having said that when he does come into the game he is a quality footballer.

Need someone in the side with power and aggression though for next season.

He seems to be going the way of Geo, explosive start then losing a lot his impact. I still wonder why fans aren't having a go at him instead of the usual suspects, but don't want to talk about that anymore on here.

I would only want to see him go if we replace him with somebody better. IMO he is certaintly the best midfielder we have, if not our best player. He has always been like this for us, the difference is that at the start of the season he was scoring goals, now he isn't.

I have always thought he looks like a miserable bugger playing for us though.

Wouldn't you look miserable if you had his quality and you went from playing with the likes of Jon Greening, Chris Brunt, and Kevin Phillips to signing for us and realising you were being kept out of your preferred position (WBA knowing you did't like it on the wing contributing to them releasing you) by Harper, Kilbane was the pace you were releasing on the left wing, and up front you had Garcia on his own for you to feed it to?

It'd take me a while to get over that disappointment.

I know what you're saying, but in the last game he was played in his preferred position(as he has been in several games), in the middle supporting the front two.

He was largely anonymous.

I like Koren being in the side, he has that bit of quality that can turn a game, but in the second half of this season he's been a shadow of the player he was in the first half.

That said, I'd still start him.

I was just going for the miserable bugger comment. I don't remember him being that different earlier in the season though, he was a bit like Elliott in L1 in that way. If you took their goals away neither of them really did anything else in the game. (Elliott I thought was a much better player the season before that)
