I was not happy with the Guly change. He didn't attack or add pace, Steve is direct and willing at least. But, I haven't taken Saints out of league one and to the brink of Premier League Football, so my opinion is invalid against Nigel's.
Steve De Ridder is ****. I'd have liked to have seen Falque as he obviously has talent. Guly was good today, certainly better than Chaplow who cannot pass for love nor money (he could have played Sharp in with a simple ball but passed it too weak and behind Sharp so slowed the move right down) and has the worst first touch I've seen on a professional footballer. We will beat Coventry next week and be promoted, that I am sure of. Hopefully Guly starts, he could be key on Saturday.
Ok, I hope you are correct. Anyway Poopey were sent down today and are out of their missery provided they are still in business next season
Not trying to have a go or offend you mate, but it's just a bit of a predictable and repetitive thread. Were it not for that ref, we would all be on here talking about how well we played.
Every word of this rings true to me. I've not thought Steve was good from the very start, and it's really disappointing how bad Chaplow has been since coming back from injury.
So whats wrong with punch? Is he injured? He could of put de ridder on the bench. As another poster pointed out, what about falque? What was the point getting him on loan? And finally chaplow is ****.
We should be able to win games like this, without needing help from the ref. Our Midfield was **** and over run far to much, Lambert had a poor game. As for Butterfield umm yeah... Moving on I hope Leicester do something, or it will be a nervous as hell game against coventry. They have **** all to be worried about now, they can go for it.
The mistake is Fonte, how many goals has he been at fault for of late - blackpool, reading and now today! He is not good enough!
Why can't people on here accept criticism! we weren't good enough and lost, the post is correct, Adkins made mistakes. No-one has called for him to get ****ing sacked!! everyone on here just writes positive stuff all the time in fear of people having a go at them, and anything thats negative gets slated.
That's the problem really, we don't have anyone better. I don't like to moan about players, and I do think he's good, but he's been off lately.
Problem with that is that it wasnt 'help' from the ref, it was him doing his bloody job and he failed miserably
Yes I know that, but look at Boro record until today. As soon as we scored we sat back far to much, we let their very average midfield run it.
I think that Bailey found too much space in the first half sitting deep and Robson was obviously fired up for his last home game as a Middlesbrough player. This is an issue we should address (like defensive cover) but I think we have to wait until the summer to solve these issues. We just need to make sure we can keep ourselves above the automatic promotion line.
Yes, Hooiveld also gave away a foul against Jutkiewicz, but this one did not cost us. I thought Fonte looked ok today, despite some poor recent performances and I cannot really say that their strikers really gave them too many problems.
That Bailey geezer mopped up everything with ease. We needed to push Lallana on top of him to stop him breaking up play and enabling them to counter. I would have gone 4-1-2-1-2. We don't have natural width anyway so i think this would have suited the players today at least. We lost to a distinctly average team today with feint hopes of playoffs and are poor at home. I do think Adkins showed a little tactical naivety but the ref and Fonte played their part too. We must learn from this and rip Coventry apart. We need to go at them from the first whistle and take no prisoners. I shed tears of pain today, let there be tears of joy next week!
