It was Puma Martin Chiver's for me and no I never wore shinnies.

I remember them, but what's that all about? You can understand the Kaiser ,Gerd Mulle and all, but boots named after Martin Chivers?![]()
I had a pair of Patrick Keegan Top, they were good boots even if I could'nt stand Keegan. Belive it or not they were made from Kangaroo hide, I could jump about 6 feet in the air with those beauties.
I had these instead.

Ah, Dead shot Keen's old Boots?
As good a player Dead Shot was he could not lace the boots of Roy Race.
50/50 with the goalkeeper, both slid in and I got his stubs in my shin. My calf is now almost as thick as my thigh
you know i have to say i was wrong about the offside thing - i had always thought there had to be clear daylight between the attacker and defender but having looked it up again i must admit i got it wrong - i wonder if thats why we used to concede so many on a saturday afternoon......
not to counter your lenny thing mr t but i turned up after my wife and her pal had been there for an hour or so and he was really really nice - that said he was also sober and a few drinks can change many a man
an oneill?? martin was a gentleman but refs were not spared his wrath if you remember - nor were opposition players at times
im not saying lennon doesnt need to reel it in a bit - ive lost count of the number of times ive said that here - but the overreaction to some of the things is "criminal"![]()
Agreed Dev.
My wee brother used to read it and I'm sure I remember latterly before they cancelled the comic Roy Race ended up either in a wheelchair or having his legs amputated after a helicopter crash or something.
How is it that people always remember such trivial ****?
.
I don't remember that but I do remember the bus crash in some Arabian pre-season tour which wiped out half the team - conveniently this happened when a new format of "Rovers" was coming out, the Melchester kit changed etc..
They brought in foreign players, I'm sure, but they replaced the clugging centre half with his son
My favourite melchester player was Duncan McKenzie, the bearded Scottish fullback. It was clearly Danny McGrain.
Whit a player.

I just had a quick swatch on the Roy of the Rovers website - there's a tribute page to the players who died in "The Basran Disaster"

One of them was called Kenny Logan
