Tiote will definitely leave IMO, Dekka practically issued a come and get him plea in the papers recently. Good thing is though he won't go unless it's for stupid money and hopefully it can be reinvested wisely.

Diame is very very good. Real quality player who was great against us at St. James. Proper all action.

I think Tiote might stay if we get CL, which I doubt. That said I think Diame will be Guthries replacement if Wigan go down.

If Tiote goes, i'd want Mulumbu or Matuidi to replace him. With the money we'd get for him, we could get either of them, a class CB and striker cover (Giroud or somebody like that) seeing as Ranger and Lovenkrands would be out the door

I like that Diakite. He reminds me of Tiote when he first arrived - powerful and tidy but absolutely mental with his tackling at times. If he calms down, which it looks like he might, then he'd be a great replacement (I am going off only 2 matches and a bit of MOTD tho)

I like Diame. Has loads of natural ability. But he has struggled to hold down a regular place there since the early part of the season when they were getting spanked. He was playing quite well when everyone wasn't. However it does raise the question if Martinez has seen some kind of deficiency in his positional play and defensive work that was hurting the team. They have certainly picked up since he was dropped (injured at various stages too). Not really a holding midfield either. Not the guy to replace Tiote but certainly a guy to keep an eye on.

Not so long ago I was thinking we'd be able to replace Tiote and he was the most sellable out of the big stars. Then he comes back and you see the difference he makes. He lifts our game two or three levels, purely down to his desire to win the ball back. He puts us on the front foot, and like any great player, when the game is slipping away he'll up the ante and take control single handed. Sunderland was a good example, both Man U games and ther ehave been countless others. The man is a beast.

True story. I remember Rio Ferdinand saying something about the only opponent Wayne Rooney fears is Tiote.

I will risk the wrath of god and say that I think Tiote would be the most easily missed of our big stars. We are in a far better state to simply carry on without him than we would be if Krul, Ba, Cisse, HBA or Collo left.

I expect to be struck by lightning shortly

So that was what happened to the poor bastard standing beside me at the traffic lights . . .

Quite typical of the Great T actually - - tremendous power but doesn't always get it on target
