Todays racing comes to us from Lingfield -AW, Nottingham, Catterick and a evening card at Kempton - AW. Plus we have racing across the water in Dundalk...

Please put any thoughts or pointers for the days racing up so that the forum can laugh at and discuss...

Good luck to all who play today...<cheers>

Gl to all that are.

Jeez Wooly... Thats some serious withdrawal problems your having if your saying its 'getting closer to Cheltenham...'

When you going to start your countdown clock...<laugh><laugh>

Couple for me today bizarrely!

14.20 Ling - Caught Napping
16.30 Catt - Amir Pasha (e/w at 12s)
17.20 Ling - Chatterer
20.50 Dun - Time Travel

Morning All

MacTiernan has been heavily tucked into in the 3.20 at Lingers, despite bing beaten out of site LTO in December. 11/1 this morning, now into 5/2 in places (7/2 widely) - perhaps because of move to De Gilles' stable.

Couple of shorties..

2:10 Nott - Black Monk
7:00 Kemp - Bordoni - Nice sort

Also Levante should be well up to beating Sporting Gijon in La Liga this evening at a decent enough price.

Knew I. Would get pelters. But I'm bot saying ots near the greatest show on turf. But its going the right way.we have the big four coming. And the meeting starts off woth best of themm. And apart from the aontree hurdle the qaulity of the actual races are better. A few cheltenhan rematches. al ferof vs cue card, grumeti vs the triupg winner, plus we get to see fingal bay and the momster that is simonsog. I'm just saying its going the right way

Your right Wooly, Aintree dos have some cracking races and a few re-runs of Cheltenham as well...

It will be a good few days and hopefully we see some really good winners and a few hard luck stories... All in all another great sporting event...<ok>

NamNed: Think he may be a bit dazed, as our noble knight, Sir Woolcombe Folly, fell off his hoss..................

Captain Cardington 16/1

If discounting his last run which may have come too soon, I think Mick Channon's 3 year old looks very overpriced. He makes his return to turf for the first time since November where he finished a decent 2nd off a 2lb higher mark and on the basis of that and some of his other efforts I think he could be easily able to exploit his handicap mark of 66. On his 2nd career start back in June of last year, Captain Cardigan ran out an impressive winner of a maiden at Epsom. The form of that race looks strong , with the 2nd performing admirably off a mark of 70 subsequently and the 3rd winning twice in the interim period, including off a mark of 78. After this Captain Cardington was stepped into Class 2 company for his handicap debut off a mark of 75 where he ran a very credible 3.25L beaten 7th in a race with very strong form. After being readily outpaced, he met a lot of traffic in running before staying on over the 7f trip and if reproducing that effort today he should take all the beating. As a 3 year old, Captain Cardington landed a 1m2f event at Lingfield two starts ago off only a 2lb lower mark and with the 2nd winning by 4L on his next start there is a lot to like about that effort. If discounting the last run, 16/1 looks a massive price and if the reversion to turf benefits Mick Channon's charge than I can see him going very close at a price that vastly overstates his chances.
