I've heard Saracens will be with us for half a season, i hope not! Meanwhile, has anyone heard rumours of an Italian takeover which is apparently moving on a pace?
If there was any truth in those rumours, I suspect the current run would slow any talks down. Let's assume for argument's sake that the rumours have some truth in them (I really don't have a clue either way). In Bassini's shoes, the faint possibility of promotion won't make much difference to the club's value. On the other hand, if the bonds were payable from Premier League money, rather than funds that he has to borrow, find from his own pocket or raise through player sales, going up would massively increase the return he could expect.
If I remember, should we get promoted then the bonds are payable straight away and not over the next few years. Not sure on the same thing applying if the club were sold again, but I feel sure that they would need to be.
That would make sense Frenchie Although it remains interesting at what point uncle Baz would sell up Would also be interested in the amount of debt the club is still in, as an aside would Baz keep the pub if he sold the club?
It's time we paid the Romans back for invading in AD43 - still smarting over that one. I can't for the life of me see why Vialli would want to be involved in taking us over - revenge? Hope he stays away
You have heard the same thing as I have then H. I posted it in the Nest yesterday, but somehow it seemed rather far fetched. The only reasons that I can think of are 1. He wants a management job again. 2. He has considered Watford with it's flow of youngsters coming through as a good feeder club. 3. Baz has told him just how profitable the club will be when he has finished all of the ground improvements. I wonder why it is these days that most of the time it is reported that it is a consortium that wants to buy into a club. Is it way of making your guesswork seem more creditable?
Yes - they even named a mountain range for us, the Grampians. We soon sent them scurrying back to England though.
If we're going to be bought by an Italian consortium, I think Ferrari and a decent Chianti producer should be involved somewhere...
I don't want the people responsible for putting a Ferrari badge on the monstrosity below to go anywhere near the rebuilding of our stadium. [nsfw] please log in to view this image [/nsfw]
I was horrified to hear of a connection with Pisa - but then worked out the acronym: Pierre Issa's ....................
If Vilelli comes back it will be good to renew my last conversation with him in the Club Lounge at Linate whilst we were both waiting for a flight back to London. I casually walked up to him and said "Are you thinking about managing a club in England again" - he responded "You never know, if the right club and offer came along, i would consider it" - I responded "Well make sure it is not watford again you fu**ing clueless cu**" - I cannot understand why he was not amused!!
