Talking of mongs. I see the Spuds are wetting themselves because their ladies team won the London OAP cup.

Awww bless 'em :)

I dont think its realistic to complain that we arnt winning the strongest league in the world(particulraly at a time where the likes of city have unlimited resources while ours have been limited by a stadium build).

We've made it through a difficult financial time on a tight budget while still keeping the club amongst Europe's elite.

We very may well finish the season in third place and the manager and board have admitted they are ready to bring in some quality 'additions'.
(we know for a fact wenger wants to add Podolski)
I dont think it's helpful to be soo overtly nagative. I would like to see the club challenging for the title and I still wish we had tried to keep Fabregas but in life things are not always black and white there are thousands of shades of grey inbetween.

So we're not far off coming third then - I would agree with that.

But we are miles off challenging - opinions don't matter on the subject. The table doesn't lie.

We differ in that my expectation is we challenge for the title.

It isn't that we're not winning the PL that's the issue. It's that we aren't even close. The same can be said of the other competitions. Losing to Sunderland would have been unheard of 10 years ago. 4-0 to an average Milan?

Didn't we lose to sunderland 10 years ago (maybe 11) on the opening day of the season? I seem to remember vieira getting sent of.

You're wasting your time mate. PNE and his followers are hell bent on hating anything positive about Arsenal. So much so that they will fabricate, twist and turn and deny they got it wrong, such is their inability to admit they make poor errors of judgement.

No Jayram it's not an excuse, it's a recognition that we ARE NOT FAR OFF. As bear said, we've been in three finals in the last 7 years and 2 of those we could have won with a bit of better luck. And on the notion of luck, talk to any player or manager and they will all tell you that it plays a key part.

You say that the only reality is that we haven't won any trophies, but you fail to recognise that we have not been THAT FAR OFF from winning at least one. The comparison was made with us being like Blackburn or Wigan because they also hit the post etc and therefore they are NOT THAT FAR OFF, but That is a disengenuous stance. We are much closer to winning trophies than Blackburn or Wigan are.

Bear is right, the argument is too Black and White - either winning trophies or toothless. This is not the case, and it's not been the case this season either. We started with a string of bad results, but we were not playing bad football. We were making mistakes that were in our control to rectify and losing and drawing games that we should have won. It was Arteta's 'small details' that we were getting wrong, which is why we were NOT FAR OFF. Now we have rectified the 'small details' we have gone from a position of being NOT FAR OFF challenging, to one where we are challenging.

Complete excuse - you spout complete BS just to try and glaze over the fact Wenger has failed for years.

When we actually win - back in the real world instead of all your if's buts and maybe's - then we can talk.

IN truth 'We're not far off' means NOTHING. When players or fans say it it sounds like an excuse - it is an excuse. Truth is we are closer to 6th than 1st points wise.

Your if's and buts dribble sounds pathetic - we are not close to challenging for the title and that is a very clear and simple fact <ok>

Another time you have been proven wrong - unless the table is made up and it's your fantasy world that is the real world <laugh>.

Don't take my word for it, read what Henry has to say, or Keown, or Arteta in fact.

I'd say they they know more about Arsenal FC than you do <ok>

Wrong as usual. I want Arsenal to be a success unlike the blind-faithers who don't care how poorly we perform so long as no one dares crirticise the club.

Turns out that 'Blind Faith' was actually well placed after all <whistle> Maybe it had more to do with actually knowing what we were talking about, instead of spouting off doom mongering rubbish like we'd finish mid table.

No - we just don't buy your myopic BS.

As we have all stated we're far more positive now than in a long time - for me I am more positive than any time in the last 4 years.

But when you talk **** - especially the if's , buts and maybe's bollocks - you will get corrected.

You've been talking **** all season mate.

As has now been proved. <ok>

How funny, when professionals and ex players were saying Arsenal had problems you were the first to bemoan how pundits knew nothing and it was all a media frenzy.

Hypocrit or what?

Show me the quotes.

I've always respected what Henry and Keown have to say about Arsenal.

Are you contesting it ?

Blind faith is exactly right - Piskie failed to acknowledge anyone (even Wenger and Graham) when they say anything that agrees with our views yet is happy to grasp any word muttered by any ex or current player when it supports his view. Complete hypocrite.

If he had a brain he would realise that people change their views according to what is actually happening.

Useless trying to get through to him - he thinks we're not far off winning the title, he thinks confidence is the only thing that has changed, he thinks Wenger has done an amazing job over the last few years.

So many times he has been proven completely wrong, so when we go on a good run he can't wait to bait and stir up trouble. It helps him cover his embarrassment at being made to look like a complete fool so often - the best is still his his proof from the Daily Mail though... he got so embarrassed by that he ended up deleting posts. This thread is not far off being closed and then getting the usual last comment by Piskie <laugh> What a tool.

I personally think the doom merchants are far more damaging to the club.
One of the issues we have is the fact our supporters can be really **** at getting behind the team when things are going badly. It's all doom and gloom with some people when in reality we have it pretty good.

Both have vested interests, but morons fail to see such things.

I think both Henry and Keown know more about Arsenal than some of the morons who knock their views on here <ok>

GG said he would let Walcott go. I think that pretty much sums up that he (and you) don't know what you're talking about <ok>

Brilliant, so GG knows nothing <laugh>

It's only players that support your view then that know anything about football <laugh>

I guess you think you know more than GG <doh>
