most people on here have really enjoyed our little trip through the championship and league1. played some nice football and now we are favourites to win most games ( a new experience for us since the glory days of the early 80's)
so my question is- why do you want or are looking forward to if/when we go up? Being purely selfish I can get to watch every game- either on live TV or internet, along with some reserve games if we rejoin, and for the club it will basically secure our short term future. So for you guys is it being able to watch the best players- goto the best stadiums, maybe looking forward to us bringing in some top class players (not knocking the team we have) or anything else that your looking forward to

Keeping players like Adam & Rickie, they deserve a shot at the Prem. Also, the people who have invested in us, the money that you gain by going up would be a fitting tribute to their faith in the club. And it also shows what a great investment SFC is.
On the down side, the Championship is the most exciting League in the whole World!

Being able to see every game, and getting to see us on MOTD again will be great. I'm also looking forward to the whole world taking notice when we start challenging for European places.

If we go up this season,it will be great for the club. One of the things I'm looking forward to the most is the fact that a lot of our games will be televised, which will be great, highlights on MOTD and extended highlights on football first,in HD.

The increase in revenue and the chance to showcase our club to the global audience, from the USA to Japan people will begin to know about our great club.

The last 3 years have been a lot of fun,we've been winning most of our games and breaken records galore, but we need to test ourselves against the best and to do so we need to go up and compete in the greatest league in the world that is the Premier League.

In order to progress as a football club we need to be in the 1st tier of english football,I know people say that it's not exciting and that the championship is better in that aspect, maybe it is,but I want to see my club in premier league where it belongs and where we can achieve something special.

The championship maybe exciting, but the quality of football is mediocre at best and it's probably the reverse when we mention the Premier League.

If Saints are promoted, I'll miss the FL because it has been so competitive. Whenever I've watched Saints, since 1966/67, it has been to see Saints. I care not a jot for the opposition. However, I'm not that big a fool that I don't realise that in the rarefied heights of the PL, Saints will be within touching distance of winning big things, and that being amongst the elite brings its own glory. Mind you, if Saints are going there merely to make up the numbers, then I shall be very disappointed. But I don't think they are. I think Nicola wants to take Saints the whole way, and that doesn't mean just to the PL. He wants to compete, win things and make Saints bigger than ever before. And that's what I'm really looking forward to.

I'm really looking forward to the last game of season (what a day that could be) and then the summer with all the excitement of wondering what's going to happen, being talked about in the media, and dreaming of the next season. Pragmatically, it will make us financially stronger, because obviously we couldn't go on staying in the lower leagues with such an expensive team. There is also the excitement of seeing Nicola and Markus's dream come to fruition. My reason to go to SMS is to see Saints play, not the opposition. I don't feel that we are some small-time club that gets excited about the 'big clubs'.

Johnny come lately fans like you are not allowed to comment!

I'm with you on this SS. I am NOT looking forward to Saints being a Premier League whipping boy. I want to see them compete. OK Man Utd et al will always have the big money, but Spurs have built a solid platform. I know they were a member of the big 5, but they'd slipped badly. I'd settle for being a Spurs fan right now - genuinely challenging the big boys. If we can do that it'll be great

My selfish reason. A better class of person will attend due to price increases. Too many pikey's around St. Mary's at the moment.

Not necessarily. The kinds of people who will be willing to pay the increased prices will probably include those who are willing to spend every penny they earn on going to games because they have nothing else going on in their lives, and they live for the culture that surrounds going to football matches, going to the pub, getting hammered, stumbling home and mentally and physically abusing their wives. You're always going to have to put up with those types of people I'm afraid.

Better atmospheres, more coverage and I am looking forward to hearing opposition fans praising Lallana and lambert as well as new academy products coming through.

A better class of person would not know what a pikey was nor would they use such an awfully common expression.

I had to ask my neighbour to explain what JoeyB meant and was surprised when he told me as many of the people I have met who fit his description have actually been quite wealthy.

I'm hopeful that if we do get promoted, we'd be able to do more than just survive. I'd like to think we could finish around 12-14th and improve from there. I won't be looking forward to a relegation scrap a la QPR. I went to watch Fulham v Swansea recently and there was nothing to suggest we couldn't compete with that level of team.

What I'm not looking forward to is the increased number of people going (I know, I know, it's good for the club, players, money through the turnstiles etc) parking will get worse and it will take even longer to get away from the stadium. (Purely from a selfish point of view!!)

I would miss the Championship just as much as I miss League One now - it's so open, anyone can beat anyone. And we have been more likely to win games than lose them and the confidence of the players and fans is something I've not seen before. It's not just blind hope anymore, it's based on science!
