Not getting into our side, and was woeful on his only appearence back in January But my question is: Do you think he is better off at Tottenham? Personally I would say so
strange, he put in some good performances in the limited time he got with us. John Bostock's 30mins for Swindon in the JPT final yesterday was horrendous, too. The question is, do they really care about the clubs they are loaned out to? Bostock looked like he didn't even want to come on yesterday, on his debut for Di Canio.
To be honest Falque remains a mystery as to why we even signed the lad. In all fairness, he does have potential to be a decent player but from what I've seen, I don't think he has what it takes to ever really make it into our first team on a regular basis, hope he proves me wrong. Has very good technique but technical players is something we have an abundance of at the moment, youth players included. If he's not getting into your squad then I'd rather we get him back and just let him train with our guys, not sure when the loan window is closed, if we could get him back and loan him to a League 1 or bottom half Championship side, it may be better for him.
Loan Window closed on Thursday, so I presume he is with us till the end of the season I personally think he will learn more at Tottenham around internationals but there we go, I think Adkins prefers to use his own players who will be here next season personally
Also worth adding is that I think you guys have burnt some bridges with us through not playing him. We had until the end of the season to sign him and bought him early so we could loan him out and he's not sitting on his hands for the rest of the season but that's exactly what he's doing with you guys. Not sure why Adkins has changed his mind about him but he's not even getting on the bench. Levy won't like this so you can expect **** all from us when you're trying to put together a Premier League squad this summer.
Why exactly did we buy this lad? i think we do this kind of thing quite often..i wouldnt be surprised if the theory is to get him noticed then sell him back to someone in italy..but we paid a fair whack for him and at the most he will be hangin around like Gio..having said that everytime i saw him in our Europa matches he looked decent enough to suggest that he will get better. and as Roo said with regards to Bostock...i noticed the same thing..infact i thought he looked like an arrogant prat who thinks hes too good......lets be honest it is very hard to play to your best unless you have something else that bonds you to the team..you need to be part of something.....a whole season is diffrent to say the last 10-15 games.....when you dont even know who half your team mates are.
bostock prob reads his mint copy of the evening standard all them years back when it said barca were going to sign him as backup for messi...is it any wonder he turns his nose up at lowly swindon as clearly he doesn't have to work hard or prove anything!
I am disappointed to hear Bostock didn't look too keen yesterday. I didn't see any of the game as I was at the NextGen final, so am I only going on what has been said on here. I take a very keen interest in this lad as I believe there is a real talent in there and it's seasy to forget he's only just turned 20. Hopefully Di Canio will knock any rough edges of the lad and he will respond in a positive manner and get back to doing what he does best, playing football every week. As for Falque, the reason we signed him is because he does actually look a decent player. For sure, his time at Southampton seems to have been wasted, but they have been winning every week and are hardly going to change a winning side to accommodate an untried and untested youngster are they ?? I suppose the correct course of action would have been to haul him back to Spurs and get him out somewhere else if he wasn't going to get picked. We've pulled Dean Parrett back this morning from Yeovil because they aren't picking him, so it's puzzling why we haven't with Falque, but don't let's write him off just yet as he has looked ok when he's featured for us.
More thought has to go into the loan system as we don't need to be sending players to the top teams in the lower leagues, i would have though sending them to the weaker teams means they get more games, will have more responsibility on the pitch and have more of a chance to make an impression. This of course depends on the players attitude and willingness.
A Southampton fan said the whispers around there are that part of the deal is that they can keep him on loan next season if they get promoted so it may be that we don't have the option to recall him. Whilst he might not be getting played there I'm sure they're happy to have him as back up so that may be why we didn't get a mutual agreement to bring him back and loan him back out to another club, potentially a rival to Southampton.
Thanks for the clarification Yid Vicious. That rings a bell with me now you've mentioned it, I think that was part of the initial arrangement. Saints do look as if they'll make it to the PL, so let's hope they use him more if he does indeed stay with them next season.
Yeah, hopefully with a preseason under his belt Adkins will have more confidence in him. It's a shame that he's not playing at the moment, I thought he sounded very excited to be joining Southampton, which ultimately is probably a step or two down from where he'd want to be. Then not to be given playing time has got to hurt for him. Personally I still don't rate him from the little I've seen of him but I hope I'm wrong.
Perhaps we should be looking to Orient again with our loans? It seemed to do Carroll a lot of good and they're not doing well this season without them, so any new blood would probably get game time.
Kane looked good there last season too and I remember Townsend scoring a wonder goal against Yeovil a couple of years back. Certainly use our lads to good effect it would seem. Definitely our best "feeder" club, hope we can keep up the good working relationship with them as it's clearly benefitting our lads.
Send them up to scotland, will shut the jocks up when they see rangers and celtic getting thumped by Fulham B and Stoke B.
