The B teams in lower divisions idea is just insulting to teams in those tiers and also very elitist.
There's a reason why clubs like Sheffield Wednesday get better attendances than the likes of Villarreal.

The reserve leagues need looking at, but throwing reserve sides into hard fought and respectable competitions isn't the answer, in my opinion.
A European League is a terrible idea and this would just be another step towards it.

We do seem to loan a lot of players to the same few clubs - Millwall, Orient and Bournemouth - and it tends to benefit the team whilst aiding their development. For some reason we stopped loaning players to Ipswich and Bristol City, whilst I can't see us loaning players to Leeds for a while after the Townsend/Smith debacle - and one day Yeovil will take the hint and make us an offer for Okika...

The old pals act frequently comes into play where loan deals are concerned.

I believe the Yeovil connection is through either their current chairman or a previous one, being great mates with Harry's father. The Orient one is through the close proximity of the clubs and of course we used their ground for our reserve games after new rules prevented us from continuing to use Stevenage's ground. The Bournemouth connection is an obvious one and I have no idea about Millwall. The Ipswich one broke down because Roy Keane took players from us and then never picked them. Doncaster was another because the the then manager, Sean O'Driscoll used to play for Harry, and is still a neighbour of his in Poole. Surprised it's taken this long for Harry to help his mate Di Canio with a Spurs player.

Millwall might just be because they're from London and they actually play our players, SC!
The ones that I know loved Townsend last season.

    Yes, SC. You're right.
He joined Chesterfield for a bit and then Millwall, where he started to shine.

Fair enough. You can look forward to Bentley and Jenas next season then <devil>

If you're lucky you might get Bongani "squad place" Khumalo too!
