He could be, but he isn't. Though you're right that he wouldn't come cheap, at least £1.5m, possibly more.
I was hoping that you'd cast some light on the striker situation. But we probably wont even sign a striker
I'm not sure how reliable that is. One that jumped out straight away was Macheda who I knew wasn't going to be. When I googled it to check it he's got two years left on a contract he signed over two years ago. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...cheda-signs-four-year-contract-extension.html If they were having doubts about Barnsley players it wouldn't mean as much, but if they can't even get the Man U players right I'd be wary of trusting any of it, it's not like he signed it last week. (Most might be right, but you've no certainty when picking)
Why should he be? There is a long list of strikers that have successfully moved up from lower divisions to the Championsip, they're not all like McClean.
Vito and Elden as the 2 GK. Gerrard back on a FREE so that we have 4 quality centre backs. Hoobs-Chester-Cooper and Gerrard looks great to me. Jakob Butterfield and Gareth McCleary again both as FREE's in the summer from Barnsley and Forest respectively. Brady and King back on season loan deals at the very least from Man Utd. + one other kid from Man Utd...tba. Will look forward to seeing Henderson against Hoobs and Chester on saturday week. But yes he looks like he would be well within our budget. IF Millwall go down maybe we can swap Cash and Simpson for Henderson.?? If we got all those then that would be very good summer business and for not much money overall. IMO all of them could well play at PL level as well. Henderson looks no worse than Morison and Graham and Holt and they have done ok these season in the PL.
I'd go for Hearn at Grimsby, turn of pace and goalscoring ability. GK sorts itself out, we hopefully will have Jakupovic and a bid for Manonne wouldn't go amiss. I think a young replacement for McKenna who can rival Cairney for a starting spot would also be ideal.
I think McClearly would be a quality signing, if not him this kid Ryan Hall from Southend, he's banging them in from everywhere, also if we wanted a younger version of McKenna we could get Gael Bigirimana, he's only 18 and he's tough-tackling and is a good passer
