Showing some classic signs of grieving...

Denial - "Hopefully Soton will think they are already up as they are 9 pts above us, have a massive wobble, and we'll go up as champions with Redding."

Anger - "Le Tissier your comments have been noted and won't be forgotten you big nosed ****"

Hope - "Win at Peterboro and beat Reading and we might sneak it. "

<laugh> Just waiting for bargaining and acceptance then. What did Le Tiss say?

What's Le Tiss said??

Just noticed Barnard came on as sub. He's hardly has had a mention from any of us lately. For those at the game how well did he link with Billy? Proves again we can win without Rickie!

Fine .

But how can you have had complete confidence ?

Please let me know & let us share the lottery numbers :-)

I explained it in a post the other night. Basically, I realise that we're all Saints fans, and historically it will mean that the team will ultimately let us down. But this SFC isn't the SFC we grew up with, and it's about time we stopped behaving as if it was, and getting all jittery about a game which Saints should win. So if the score is at 0-0 around 50+ odd minutes, there are still upto 40 minutes to score.

What it boils down to is that I don't try to find reasons to dislodge my confidence in Saints. Logically, I should have complete confidence in them. Let's face it, if I'm not going to have complete confidence in the Club as it is set up right now, when am I going to..? ;)

They said on Sky that we would have to implode not to go up. Just done some arithmetic (check if you like... not you, Beddy), if WHU won all their remaining 8 games (<laugh>) we would be above them on GD if we won 5 out our remaining 7 games. Sounds good.

Very true TSS. The Keegan era was great but I think this Adkins one is getting mighty close. Even though we were level at half time I was still confident.

If West Ham and Reading won all but their head-to-head matchup and drew that one, it would take 91 points for us to go up. That's four wins and a draw in seven games, in the absolute worst-case scenario. And that's not going to happen; nine points from seven will likely do it, and perhaps comfortably. Beat Pompey, beat Coventry, and find a win elsewhere...realistically, that's all we will need to do.

We're up aren't we.

Rusty as hell tbh, but he hasn't played for ages so expected.

Chimbonda is the dirtiest player I have seen. Constantly elbowing Sharp and doing little fouls here and there. Plus mouthing off all the time and HEAD BUTTING Sharp, how did the ref miss that??.

We're up aren't we.

I've resisted the temptation to say so before today, but my stat geek side is kicking in. It's still possible that we end up third, but it's getting rather improbable. We're beyond "if they have a great stretch..." and "if we have a bad stretch...", and we're now blazing past "if they have a great stretch and we have a bad stretch...". There are simply very few scenarios anymore that see both of them pass us.

We can be caught. Will we? Almost certainly not. We are, in all likelihood, going up.

Barney put in a good shift, and was sensible enough to sort Billy out and may have saved him from a red card after some dirty work from Chimbomba who was trying his utmost to get Billy sent off.

I would say that today the Fat Lady used her throat spray and did a few scales to warm up her voice. She may even have had a little cough to clear her throat. The Stage Manager is about to knock on the door to announce, Five Minutes, Miss FL Championship..!

FL meaning Fat Lady of course. Or Football League, if you prefer. ;)

What happened with Chimbonda i couldnt really see the incident from where i was (and i wasnt paying attention) someone fill me in

Holy **** what a goal from Crouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Acrobatic volley from around 30 yards!
