When was this?? I assume pre 1993 as this is when I got into football. Sounds incredibly dodgy and I agree with everyone's sentiments regarding Jimmy Hill. He is an odious buffoon whom I would gladly attack were it not for the fact his chin intimidates me <yikes>

You have to remember that Hill was the football concience on MoTD in the early seventies - if there were any incidents in the games he would lecture the viewers on the rights and wrongs etc - thats why it is particularly galling that f all was done about it as it was quite simply match fixing - this will explain about what happened

I see. 10 years before I was born!!! Still that reeks of immense foul play. How was this not brought up in the media or the FA? Is it because of Mr Chin?

possibly because he was part of the media and as I say the "concience of football" and you have to remember that there was a nudge nudge wink wink environment with the FA (please refer to the later Trevor Brooking/West Ham/Tevez farce) or possibly because it involved a northern club or maybe I am being a bit revolutionary - viva the north

They will probably still put our score up on the electronic score board just to be on the safe side - let's hope it is a draw and they both go down.

Want Bristol City to win.

Still despise J.Hill so would prefer Coventry to fall into the conference league.

have to agree with this, i hate coventry more as it was they who announced the result, jimmy hill will never be forgiven in me and so many sunderland fans eyes

Agree with those above but isnt it nice after all these years too see how we have progressed and they have stood still and on the verge of the old Div 3, couldnt happen to a nicer club come on City.

Maybe 2-2 ...... this time they both go down
Maybe 2-0 at Goodison.... this time to Sunderland
Correct score double @ 313/1..... worth a quid for a laugh .... I will do if it comes up !

Why all the Coventry hate?

Once upon a time, a long long time ago a pointy chinned cheating c*nt known as Jimmy Hill resided over a football team known as Coventry.
One May 1977 evening, we SAFC, lost a game against Everton whilst at the same time Coventry were playing Bristol City. J Hill delayed the kick off allegedly due to transport problems and upon hearing the sunderland score decided whilst Coventry were winning 2-0 to announce the score to the stadium. Knowing a point would keep both Coventry & bristol up 2 goals were scored and a draw played out.

For this reason i still hate jimmy Hill and would love the b*stard to die a slow horrible death.

others may put this eloquently however i post how i see it.
