just wondering what yaz all think the attendance will be against everton in the cup qauarter replay since we have had poor crowd v boro and arsenal in the cup? i was at both of them games. and i am getting my ticket on wednesday for this one.
haha! We'll see about the noise! though to be fair your lot were the second best away fans i've seen at goodison.
If the Everton fans have taken up their 6000 allocation, then surely we can sell 40,000? Surely? If its not a near sell out, considering this is an FA Cup quarter final, then I'll be very disappointed to be honest. I remember the Chelsea quarter final replay in 92 and the totally amazing atmosphere that night. That's one of my top 10 ever games following the lads and our fans made the difference that night for sure. A sell out game with 42,000 Mackems screaming for victory may well sway the game our way. The club have done their bit keeping prices reasonable. It's up to us now to deliver on the terraces.
Season ticket holders can also get an additional adult ticket for £10. Well done to ES and SAFC for at least attempting to pull the fans back to the ground. I think this has captured the imagination of the Sunderland public again and I believe our crowds could build again on the strength of this. 45-46,000 booze fuelled fans will make this a tremendous atmosphere. The curse/hoodoo will be broken this night, semi's & Wembley here we come.
Well I will be there! Fully expect this to be a sell out, if it's not something has seriously gone wrong with the Sunderland football supporter.
Any of you old un's remember getting tickets for the 1976 Q/F. The queue stretched around Roker Park about four or five times. We got there early so only had to do two laps.
Cheers mate...I will be keeping an eye out because it may mean me having to get a swap at work so I can get there...
alot of good points there lads, and yeah sumit is defo wrong if we cant fill 42k in a quarter final. tbh i cant wait. i love night time games and i think it will be a special atmosphere. haway the lads
The one thing that is for certain is that the Everton fans, just like all away fans apart from the Mags, will be allowed in and made welcome in all the pubs and clubs in the city and around the stadium. What is all this home fans only mullarky which seems to be the norm in many of your pubs? Pretty sad if you ask me...
I'll be amazed if it's not a full house. Ellis setting low prices etc is the club going above and beyond, and this is the biggest game in our recent history. The fans down at Goodison on Saturday were superb, even watching 1300 miles away I was full of pride. Some, actually most, of the SOL's memorable games and atmospheres have came under the floodlights (Sheff United play-off, Burnley promotion game, first goal v Man City), this will be added to list list hopefully. Whoever wins this has a good , genuine chance of going to the Final, we have to carry the lads, as I genuinely believe we did through the last 10 minutes on Saturday.
