How good does that sound, lets take it in...

FA CUP...yes that thing we never think of this late in the season, usually a weekend off for us, a bit Like Newcastle.

QUARTER FINAL...That means win this one and we are off to Wembley, remember don't go using the twin towers for directions.

We cant do cross board but there is no body there anyway so I hope our little band of red and whites can find things to talk about, I'm confident we will have good things to discus tomorrow evening.

    What team do you think?

Are you going down, if so how and when?

Have you been to Goodison before?

How many Newcastle names will we see at the bottom of the thread tomorrow, trying to pretend they don't care but having a peek anyway, TBF this is the nearest they will get to Wembely.

My money is on 4-5-1 with Bendy the lone striker and Vaughan for Campbell, hope I'm wrong and we go 4-4-2 but cant see it.

I will be watching on ITV at home.

I reckon at least 7 mags will peek and chaps will join us with his input.

God I'm nervous as hell about this game. I know we've come a long long way under MON but Wembley??? It's like a fantastic dream. These things don't happen to modern day Sunderland.
Personally I'd like 4-5-1, pack the midfield and hit them on the break. Given our past record against Everton a draw would be a great result. Get them back to a packed out SOL.

Not that any of you care... but we should line up...

    -----------------------------Howard---------------------------
    --Neville---------Heitinga----------------Distin---------Baines--
    --------------------Fellaini------Rodwell/Gibson/Osman----------
    ------Osman/Coleman--------Cahill-------------drenthe---------
    -----------------------Jelavic/Stracqualursi---------------------

Few positions up for grabs, If Gibson is fit I really hope he starts but he's injured and not due back til next week I think. Osman played well at Cm against Spurs whereas Neville is Dire there but will always be in the team because he's captain and Moyes loves him. Doubt Rodwell will start.

Coleman is still recently back from injury and has played the last two games so I am not sure whether he will play.

Jelavic is probably more likely with Straqualursi starting on Tuesday.

This game is massive for us and is certainly the most important game we have had in a very long time

I would imagine we will go in with a similar formation to Everton and go with...

    ------------------ Mignolet ------------------

    - Bardsley -- O'Shea ----- Turner --- Bridge --

    --------- Colback --------- Vaughan ---------

    Larsson ---------- Gardner ---------- McClean

    ----------------- Bendtner ------------------

IMO we need to get as much of the ball to McClean and get him running at Neville who I would imagine will play at RB for the merseyside outfit. If we can do that then we can really cause a threat with McClean's pace and strength and hopefully he can get the ball in towards Bendtner in the box.

Its a huge blow not having Sess available because this is the sort of game we could use him in but its up to the lads who step in to do just as good of a job like they did at home to Liverpool last week.

Think this is going to be a really good cup tie and wouldn't like to predict it as I think it will be really close, I would love it if we could somehow get the win and have Sess and Catts back for a trip to Wembley

I have cancelled my usual Saturday morning golf game and will be very edgy from now on, will not watch it at a pub or SoL cos I might make a big fool of myself with my reactions.

My guess is the same as Syds we will go 4-5-1, initially anyhow, Campbell or Bendtner up front depending on who is fit. I think this is a very tough game, a draw and then back to our place is my expectation. We will need to score two goals, I suspect for that draw (or a win).

Well, a good mate is due to be married in the summer and of all the times he has chosen to get his suit fittings done, it's this Saturday at 1pm! Gutted!! ... No way out of this, I've tried!! Don't think I'm going to see any of this match! Gutted!! .... I think this will be a draw, 2-2 and back to the SOL for a cracker! .... Still gutted by the way! :(

Frankly this is not a good enough excuse, if he is truly a mate he will let you go at some other time for a 'suit' fitting....what are you a woman!

He's one of those strange men that doesn't like football therefore does not appreciate the importance of this game! .... Besides, I'm scared of his wife-to-be! :)

Hi FFH, I have spared no expense and consulted the best relationship counsellors available, unless this 'friend' is your boss and you and your partner and kids depend on his goodwill to pay the rent/mortgage etc. The unanimous advice is that you need to put an end to this abusive relationship and if this guys lady is as scary as you suggest there are restraining orders available. I can you have some confidential telephone numbers if that would be helpful.

I'm looking forward to our quarter final game at Everton with great enthusiam. After so many years of being knocked out in the first couple of rounds it's great to still be in there making waves. Sunderland have participated in the featured match on ITV in every round. Peterborough Away, Middlesborough Home and Away, Arsenal Home and now Everton Away.

Wherever you maybe, I hope all of my fellow mackems have a wonderful FA Cup quarter final day.

The question I keep asking myself is can we break this run of poor results against Everton? Are our team good enough to go to Goodison and win?

The unequivocal answer I hear back (from myself which is disturbing tbh) is absolutely yes.

Will we win? Well, that's the $64k question isn't it?

We will compete, have enormous spirit and we will fight until the bitter end. As a fan, I can ask on more from my team. In Mon, we have a manager with passion, ability and enormous heart for this club.

As a fan, I can ask no more of a manager I increasingly believe to be a god sent gift for this club.

The ingredients for a memorable victory are laid out before us. I expect a good contest. I trust in the players and The manager. I hope beyond hope that by 2.40 pm tomorrow, whatever happens, that we are still in the FA Cup hat on Sunday.

    Haway the Lads.

I think most Sunderland look at this as a bigger game than the mags match (+ for you lot, Tuesday) - both teams are gonna compete!

So how do you think Neville will cope with our big oirish ****er?

I know your desperate to win kidda but you can't play all these? You can only have 11 same as us:p

Joking apart, I'm looking forward to seeing how a good but aging player like Phil Neville, handles a lively, direct and fast player like McClean?

This could be a key battle.

And that might well-be/probably-will-be the team

    ----------------- Mignolet

    - Bardsley -- O'Shea ----Turner ----Bridge

    ---------- Colback ---------Vaughan

    Larsson ----------Gardner ----------McClean

    ----------------- Bendtner

    - unless we stick Campbell on and go 4-4-2 -now that would certainly get everyone pumping!

    BRING IT ON!!!
