Most of my youth of watching the Tigers was spent at Boothferry Park as was alot of others i guess but what songs do you remember of the time, chart music that when you hear it now it brings back memories of when you was a kid, at school?? alot was cheesy i know but examples being (and no they not my faves)

Tiffanys "think we're alone now"
Huey Lewis "the power of love"
Bros "when will i be famous"
A-ha "take on me"

I do love the Huey Lewis song though and will always remember the first and only time going to ABC in town to watch Back to the future, happy days, when did it close by the way?

Anyways what songs got stuck in your head?

I was born in the late 80s so i'm more of a 90s kid but alot of them i can remember like Dangermouse, Sooty and Sweep, Fun House, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Bananaman, Captain Scarlett, Captain Pugwash was still on kids telly back then. Always loved intros like Crystal Maze and Animals of Farthing Wood. I know the songs you've mentioned minly cos they play alot of the cheesy stuff like "walking on sunshine" and "think we're alone now" at Pozition when i go there.

One for the 90s kids. Alot will cross over from over decades cos they were always repeated.

I met Steve Strange many times when he owned the Playground in Covent Garden, it was London's best club for a while, but he got carried away with the brown stuff and ending up losing his license and being closed down. I suspect he's still on it.

Although the 90s had the odd ray of sunshine like Britpop, it has possibly got to be the tackiest decade since youth culture started in the 1950s - popper trousers and the 'curtains' haircut, along with all the boy/girl bands ...the 90s were soo poor.

Yeah, but during the 90s I was 4-12 years old, so couldn't go to 'live music venues' - all I had to go on during that time was Top of the Pops and Live and Kicking, lol.

I think more decent music came from the Yanks during the 90s: Nirvana, Green Day, NoFx, Rancid, No Doubt... off the top of my head anyway.

There's plenty of them, The Ruts, The Fall, The Adverts, Magazine, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Sex Pistols, Crass and of course Hull's own The Abusers.

They were in the mix at the same time as 999, Dire Staits, The Damned,and, The Stranglers. Had an album called Hope and Anchor, front row festival with them on it, you might be able to you tube it!

OLM I'm with you, the Pistols, Clash, Buzzcocks moving onto The Jam, Specials and latterly the poppy short lived 80's groups like Bad Manners ( lip up fatty! ) Ultravox, Spear of Destiny.

More locally what about Fine young cannibals and the House Martins? Happy hour again was a classic!

Moved to Newcastle for a couple of years when all the blokes had to look like queers, Duran Duran, Nick Kershaw, ABC, Thompson Twins, That twat Boy George, liked Paul young and New Order.
