Barton bowls from the pavillion end and dresses in the manner of a male prostitute. Furthermore , his penmanship is atrocious .
From watchig it on TV it looked as though the Toon players were purposely going in late at every opportunity... overly aggressive i thought. Tiote especially, but also Ba.
All part and parcel of football. Emotions running high you do silly things. RVP was maybe a bit over the top but nothing in it really. Arsenal deserved their win overall, just gutting to throw it away so late after sticking to the game plan so well against a team in good form.
Cor blimey there are some drama queens on this forum. It really isn't a big deal. RVP got the bollock ache because Krul was time wasting, when he wasn't really it just seemed so because we wanted the ball in play so we could score another goal. He argued with Krul, Krul argued back. The keeper wasn't warned or punished for time wasting - rightly so - I don't think it was OTT. RVP obviously gave him some banter at the end of the game which annoyed Krul cos they lost at the death. Perfectly reasonable considering the passion in the game, no big deal. Nothing unsporting about RVP, nothing unusual about Krul's response. I'd prefer to see my captain showing that level of passion than not, if the players could copy his passion we'd be an even greater force. Disappointed that Song didn't "aggs up" some Newcastle players though, he should've waded in there, reminded Ba that he was in North London so he better mind out ! Maybe that would've been too ghetto
From an unbiased neutrals point of view, the question must once again be asked as to how Tiote gets away with what he does? He must have committed at least six bookable offences before he got his yellow card... As for Krul, he does seem to act like a spoilt prick at times, so I would say that all in all justice was most certainly done..
RvP showed some passion well done him, Krul answered back well done him, does not auger well for Dutch team harmony. Well done Arsenal a deserved win
Krul started it by time wasting. van Persie got wound up and complained. When Arsenal scored the winner, van Persie understandably gave him some grief, and Krul lost it. The football pitch is full of that kind of thing, and you have to learn to behave yourself, especially if you're a professional. At the end of it, van Persie comes out on top - with the win, and getting in Krul's mind. He wins. Arteta's "clawing" was unintentional, hence the free kick. Koscielny got the ball, that shouldn't even have been a free kick let alone a card!! Ridiculous.
It was just a bunch of handbags really. RVP was just fired up and desperate to score and win so tried hurrying up Krul. Yes Krul wasn't the quickest but he wasn't too slow either. It all added to the atmosphere and passion of the game. The game as a whole was played in good spirits and great to watch. Newcastle played well but couldn't keep a rampant Arsenal out.
Hmm, it disturbs me with how often I'm agreeing with you these days! It's a football match, if there was no passion it'd be a pretty dull affair. Nobody likes time wasting, it's boring. What RVP said to Krul was probably nothing compared with what I say to my friends when we're playing games and they fanny about! People are making a mountain out of a fecking molehill. Personally I wanted a Tiote vs Song b*tch fight but what you gonna do... On another note, an impartial Sunderland fan commentating on a Newcastle game. Well I never! Great game and a great effort from both teams. Once everyone calms down I'm sure they'll appreciate it was a good spectacle and both teams deserve a load of credit.
I think its great our nearest and dearest just can't get us off the brain. Some are still clearly feeling the pain of Tiote monstering their whole midfield on his own for 60mins of the derby. Tough to take I know, but that's what you get from top class talent. Sunderland may get one of that level some day. Top man. Just like Krul really. And Van Persie. The bitching about Tiote's tackles and bitching about Krul/RVP handbags is embarrassing. Some have clearly never kicked a ball in anger. Its just football, nice that it actually means something to all parties. Good luck to Arsenal for the rest of the season, cracking side looking back to their best.
Krul was time wasting from early in the 1st half. Waiting till a player went right up to him before picking up the ball (which is what irritated VP initially), taking every free kick in their half, even if it was on the half way line. Nothing against the rulkes, but seriously wasting time. Hence why the ref gave so much added time. VP got annoyed and was having a slagging match with Krul from in the 1st half. He obviously said something to Krul after we got the winner and the rest is history. Great atmosphere at the game last night. One of the best I've seen at the ground and the celebrations by the fans at the ground around me and elsewhere were like we'd just won a cup. The players also celebrated like mad. Great to win a game in added time, when you've not taken numerous chances earlier to win it. Also, always nice hosting Newcastle. Apart from some on this thread, the Newcastle away support are superb. Very different to away support like Spurs who leave after 60 minutes.
Errr.... Waiting til a striker approaches you to pick up the ball is in no way not allowed and refs shouldnt add time on for that as the ball is in play. Most keepers do it when their team is in an advantageous position, and opposing teams have no grounds to complain about it, it's up to them to force the keeper to go pick it up. This is why the arse fans are embarrassing themselves. They were getting frustrated and looking for someone to blame. Krul did very little wrong, RVP wound him up all game.
