Moving on from the game yesterday, I, for one, was eagerly awaiting the announcement as to which players Capello would be calling up for the ENG game against Wales. I have to say I was delighted to see Henderson not called upon. Before you all flame me, as I am so sure certain members of this board will, let me explain. IMO, Henderson, since his big ENG call up, has been utter crap. There's no arguing the case really. Maybe the boy read his own headlines, read he was touted at ã20m to Man U in the summer, and felt he could let his game drop (although to be fair, I couldn't see what everyone else saw in him prior to his ENG game). The fact he has been snubbed for ENG may kickstart his game again. Certainly with the return of Catts in the middle, we can move him from a position he should have never have played in. A couple of tackles a game, rubbish for a CM. For example, yesterday, he ducked out of a 50/50 challenge and ended up on the deck. There were screams from around me for him to commit and put his foot in. I'm sure you all have read Henderson is not my favourite player, far from it. Don't think this article is me having a go. I hope he's put back on the wing, and his game kicks on. If not, IMO he should have a seat on the bench for the remainder of the season, until he shows what he is "capable" of. Thoughts and opinions lads (and lasses)?
i think he's gonna be a future star, but maybe bruce should sent him to lamton street boys for a while to toughen up, cos at times he looks soft as ****e and scared to get stuck in
I'm not arsed if Henderson isn't particularly strong in the tackle, that's not his game at all. He needs shifting out wide however, and I think he'll get the chance as with Rico out, Sess will move inside.
Nobody from our squad should be anywhere near the national team with our current form at this moment in time.
But do you not agree that, playing at CM, he should at least be tackling more than 2 or 3 times a game? If you look at the goals conceded in our last 7 games, most came from mistakes/inability to tackle in midfield, although I have to say, yesterday, less so. Angeleri's somehow managed it....
I despise most aspects of the England team at the moment and don't want any of our lads involved until Capello and his incestuous coterie of low-lifes, thugs and has-beens are gone.
I think Henderson should be allowed to develop into a flair player. Let Cattermole and to an extent Muntari do the 'donkey work'. It's part of a terrible SAFC-Sickness that all CM's should be Kevin-Ball-A-Likes.
Not so much Kevin-Ball-a-likes as players who can tackle instead of running at them, hands in the air, to be passed around and/or dribbled past. Catts and Meyler should be our CMs, Muntari is a shadow of what he was.
Personally disagree, think Munter will be class when he's given freedom to pass and move when next to Catts!
TBF, I can't say much because Muntari has been forced to compensate for what I still believe, is a waste of a shirt at CM. Perhaps with a Catts/Muntari CM, we will see the best of the lad again? We can only wait I suppose.
Roker no offence mate but bollocks! We shouldn't have to carry passengers. I don't have this "sickness" you speak of. Nearly all the best CM in the prem can still put in a tackle when needed, including the flair ones! Two spring to mind immediately Wilshere and Fabregas at Arsenal. Wilshere 5' 7" looks an all round stronger and better player at 19 than Henderson 6' 2" does at 21.
Just a point again that Muntari is gash. Never cut in prem league or in Italy - an overrated player. No doubt. Does he look likw the Champions League winner u were expecting- Does he ****e...
You're a mong of the highest order who's lack of knowledge of football is only surpassed by your body odour. Try posting on your own board the lack of intelligence on there is legendary, you will be a God amongst idiot children.
