And to be fair, sometimes 2+2 = 4... Even if there are no sources, there is a clear link between Stewart going off the boil and NP putting in his bid in the summer. He really looked like he wasn't interested at times today. Mind you, I said the same thing about Brady, he was sauntering down the line looking like he didn't give a damn, and just as my rant got into full swing, the devious little sod scores.
If Nick believes that playing Stewart will boost his confidence he is wrong, at the moment it is draining his confidence, for whatever reason he is just not doing well and he knows it but seems not to be able to anything about it. He needs to be dropped completely and just play in training games etc and get his confidence and appetite for the game back. At the moment other players are having to carry him and Koren had a go at him today. Please give King a chance, I think he has looked good for the short time he has been on the pitch, he is bigger than Stewart, is more phyical and if he loses he ball goes back after it. As for Mclean, I am not a big fan. Yes he looks good bouncing all over the pitch and is a hard worker but his acrobatics often give away a free kick and today was a disgrace. How about Dudgeon starting for Dawson, give Dawson a rest, he had to hang on to a shirt today to stop a player cos he couldn' keep up. I would like to see Cullen for McLean, King for Stewart and possibly Dudgeon for Dawson at least to see how the get on for half a game.
Ian Ashbee for assistant manager. He has experience of the club, and if we weren't playing well good god he'd give them a boot up the arse.
Mannone Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dawson McKenna Koren Evans King Fryatt Brady subs: Gulacsi, Dudgeon, Cooper, Cullen, Simpson
Replace Dudgeon with Dawson and Cooper with Oli... and that should be our team for Tuesday. Definitely
We need a change of tactics and some height in there, one winger, balls into the box, Oli playing regular as midfield/extra target man and for want of someone better Adebola playing at least half a game and I'm sure Fryatt can benefit from the knockdowns and fire us into the playoffs easily.
I can't speak for other people's opinions, but the impression I've got of MB is that he's someone who comes across as though he looks at what alternatives are plausible, and then decides to proclaim the most negative one in each situation as fact without having anything but his own pessimism to base that 'preference' on. There are times when this proves to be the correct choice, but there'll also be plenty where it proves to be wrong so people tend to challenge it more.
When we played them in Jan, I think they'd gone ahead of us by 1 point. Beating them put us 2 points ahead, the gap between us and them has ranged from 6-11 points I think. We do have a game in hand, so consider that a point, then the gap will be 7.
