Arsenal face disappointment as they attempt to sell Nicklas Bendtner to Sunderland.

The Dane is currently on-loan at Sunderland.

But Martin O'Neill feels the money to fund a move for Bendtner - who has scored four goals in 19 games - would be better utilised elsewhere.

Hannover 96 are showing an interest in the Denmark international - who still has two years to run on his deal - and Arsenal hope the German club follow up early overtures in the summer

well he has been disappointing, so now we look for better options wonder who, we must have a shortlist

Not suprised IMO

We have Gyan, Campbell, Wickham and Ji.

I personally think Gyan will be sold and Ji will go out onloan

Wouldn't be suprised if we bring 2 or 3 strikers in the summer and maybe 1 of them being a marquee signing type of player who will certainly do a job for us

To add on what I said in my earlier comment

we need someone bigger, we need a big name top class striker upfront, if that means spending 10-15m then so be it, goals win you games and if we have a top class striker who can lead the line and get goals then we will always have a constant threat.

Cannot think of any in the premier league 2bh so I think we need to look across Europe, would love us to go for a player like Cavani, obviously not Cavani as he is far above the sort of player we are after but a player that is a big lad, great on the floor, good in the air and can run with the ball and score all different types of goals

This thinking is solid... anybody feeling negative about anything should feel comforted by all the time (relegation threat relatively free) MON has had up to now to "grow" his connections All those who`d love to join him being brought along I dont think you`d get 2/6d in EPL for Gyan...It`ll be pace pace pace ...and somebody rock hard with a brain as a priority

Bendtner has the mobility of a built-in wardrobe. Yes buy him £4m max as a squad/bench player. Took the rebound well!

wickham and ji are utterly terrible and gyan won't come back

we should spend the money on bentdner..........been superb the past two games and still only young

ill never forget his pen against scum also

Aye Poolie Mackem but the type of striker your describing are pretty scarce and mainly cost 30 million plus, unless a gem is plucked from nowhere which as we know can be a massive gamble, and its a dangerous game to play especially with the most important player in the team.

i think we convince him while he is with us now and then send the message to arsenal (when they offer him to us) that he is crap and we whould only sign for 1 to 2 million then if arsenal do it we sign him cheap...

if arsenal refuse and sell him to somone else do we lose anything not really

I thought he was terrific today, lead the line well and linked up play superbly. Was also in the right place at the right time which is the most important thing for a forward

these last two games he's played well, i'd dare say that if he had been abit more consistant, and prolific (say sitting on 10 goals) so far, MON would consider otherwise, it all depends on how much he would sold for, if he's going cheap, i don't see the problem with him being in the squad, but i wouldn't want anymore that 4/5mil to be spent on him.

However if he does leave, which seems more likely, It gives both Ji and wickham a chance to shine. I'd prefer Ji to start more, i rate him much much more, think his all round play is much better and his work rate is fantastic, need to keep playing him and wickham in the reserves to keep them sharpish
