Q1. Why did you play Stewart today, when he's been a waste of a shirt in the previous few games? Q2. Why didn't you pull Stewart at half time, having seen him being a waste of a shirt for another 45 minutes. Q3. Why the **** did you wait until we were on the back foot and 82 minutes in, before putting King on for Stewart? Q4. Will you please not do it again? There's no doubt that Cam's a talented lad, but he's currently contributing absolutely nothing and he needs to be dropped the bench.
worst thing is today he finally did what ive been screaming for him to do for weeks, and made some runs in behind.. trouble is when he got to the ball he turned into mcleans less talented twin...
If he isn't dropped then it doesn't give him a reminder that his place isn't secure. Dropping him for a few games will surely be to his benefit and the teams. Disappointed that we waited until that late in the game to make the change.
I think Nick is trying to avoid knocking his confidence further, as it looks completely shot already, but there comes a point where for the good of the team, he has to be dropped. I think we're at that point.
I don't think it was wise. He should have been made no 2 to an experienced no 1. Listening to him driving into the game today, I realised he's stubborn, to the detriment of football. He won't change the formation, he doesn't seem to have a Plan B when Plan A Clearly isn't working. He get's overly sensitive, and needs to man up a little. It's all well and good having principles, and sticking to them, but when we're throwing away the chance of a play off place week in and week out, then questions Nick need asking.
Is Nick Barmby too proud to change tack? As posted on another thread - why does NB persist in starting Cam Stewart, when there is something wrong with his performance? Obviously. Why not give Josh King a start? Why leave it until the game is nearly over, before bringing him on (for Stewart)?
Another question for Nick... With our lack of quality and depth in attacking areas, will you PLEASE consider pulling your boots back on and getting back out there?
Another question for Nick... Are you going to use today's game as an example as to why we don't have a goalscoring problem (despite the first been a deflection and the keeper should have saved the second ), or are you going to admit that we couldn't score in a brothel with this system change it up for the next few games? By change it up I mean drop Stewart who's been useless for near on 2 months now. Everyone can see it, I'm sure Nick can. Lets be honest if he wasn't good old Nick Barmby, he would be getting the sack the manager brigade on him by now.
Can i just ask why the system failed today? Or are those who criticise the system today just doing it for criticism sake. Today we scored two, and lost because of stupid mistakes made by individuals, and unfortunately Evans and Mckenna were not themselves in the second half. Also why start Josh King? Am i the only one who has not seen a thing from him? I think he has played nearly 20 professional games and has not assisted or scored yet.
It was going fine on the pitch until Mclean decided to do that stupid over head kick in the area. Stewart was irritating me with his lack of effort. And as someone has already pointed out, when he got the ball in behind the defender his touch was bloody awful. I'm behind Nick, and i'm liking what he's done so far. The lack of options up front were Pearson's doing. He bought Adebola, Mclean and Simpson, Nick only inherited it. We'll see what he does in the summer.
As I said the other day, King is reminiscent of Forrest Gump. He gets the ball and just runs in a straight line with his head down. Actually, scratch that, Gump at least bothered to look forward.
There's no doubt that NB should have brought attacking players in and he has been too stubborn to admit it. BUT... He is a novice manager and as such we need to accept he is still learning and be more patient. He wants to play proper football and I think he will be a very good manager especially when he has a full transfer window hopefully with real money to spend. Remember he has only been in charge two minutes and in the same period he has completely outshone Pearson's results at moneybags Leicester.
Jesus christ, that is impressive when McLean decided to kick someone in the box so hard he did a 360 in mid air! McLean needs to be dropped from the bench as nice as the lad is, Stewart needs to be dropped for King (didn't think I'd be saying this 3 weeks ago) and we need to change to 4-1-3-2. My team for Tuesday would be. Mannone Dudgeon* Chester Hobbs Rosenior McKenna King Koren Brady Fryatt Simpson Bench: Gulasci, Dawson, Stewart, Evans, Cullen
Does Nick Barmby read this stuff or are you just wasting your time too? I he did read it he should know we need a talented scorer to support Fryatt.
Stewart is in a sulk. He wants to goto Leicester in the summer but has been told the club will not sell him unless it is a big offer.
Do we need to accept though? At the end of the day, we're a football club looking to get back into the Premiership, not a training ground for new managers. As for the transfer window, what's the point if he doesn't want to use it? Not taking a dig at anyone here, but why do you need sources from some people and not others? If I remember correctly, Mr. Burgess told us NP was going to Leicester whilst others were saying he was going nowhere.
If Mr Burgess comes out with a bold statement and presents it as fact then he shouldn't have any problem at least confirming that he has a source should he?
Barmby has always been the same. Very strong minded, and a stubborn little twat at times. I went through junior and senior schools with him, playing in the same team.
Is that true? Leicester are only 6 points behind us at the moment, I'm pretty sure they were further back than that when Pearson left weren't they?
