It was of course a big relief to see under Robbie, the boys beginning to recouperate after all the miserable stuff we've had to endure in 2012! But it was made all the better by knowing that JT is back with us after high speed recovery from his operation! I've got a feeling there could be plenty more smiles to come before this season's done and dusted! COYB!!!
lets hope so but what ever happens JT being back in the side can only be a big plus. I just hope that he is rested a bit and does not automatically put cahill back on the bench as i think he is starting to fit nicely into the team.
If JT is the boss in the dressing room where has he been for the past several months? Is this the JT who claimed "he was born to tell the England manager things he did not want to hear" Is this the JT who a couple of years ago said that football decisions at Chelsea were made "by Frank and me"
Let's put up a decent fight for 3rd/4th . We're in more Comps than any other team in the league right now please log in to view this image
If we beat Stoke and Napoli (going through) then we can definitely gain some momentum for the rest of the season!
I hope things improve but I feel we were far from convincing against a depleted Brum side. Having JT back can only help us overall but let's not forget we also played some garbage with him in the side! I wouldn't really care where we end up (within reason) if I knew I'd never have to see Malouda, Kalou or Bosingwa in a Chelsea shirt again!
I know what you mean but it wasn't our strongest side on paper (albeit it was far stronger than Birmingham's!). We can't look at it like that, we defended well and beat what was put in front of us. A win will give them all confidence, you saw how the bench reacted to both goals
Bit of a pessimist me Drogs but I'm just not sure we've turned the corner just by appointing Robbie and beating Brum. Obviously it's helped but there's a long way to go I feel - God I hope I'm very very wrong!
Spot on Drogs--A run like we've had always creates demons in the players minds--and they stop believing in themselves! We had a spiral like this last season and when we came back--we came back BIG! I want to believe this is what the Brum win will spark the boys into doing again! The only fear I've got is that Napoli will come over here and park the bus and upset the apple cart again!
I don't think we've turned a corner yet, we can't base that off one result. I mean we didn't do THAT well after Valencia/City and then Bolton the other week! A run of a few games will spark us off but with the change in personnel it's now down to Robby to keep the current level of confidence after a win - something AVB probably couldn't do! But I do think it's a very positive thing that we're in more competitions than any of our rivals!
It just seems like we've been playing crap for so long now I can't really remember one game this season when I've thought - wow, we were great today. I'm disappointed it didn't work out with AVB but I'm also disappointed he didn't get rid of more of the dead wood in the summer. Although I do understand that someone actually has to want to take the players under contract and none of the players that need unloading were going to command the type of wages they're getting at Chelsea. The players out of contract this summer will be gone and we can then move forward with whoever in charge & some fresh faces. Onwards & upwards!
Agree, I think the only two times we've played brilliant football were Bolton away and Valencia! But to be honest I haven't been that impressed with United this season, they just know how to grind out wins better than we do. There are two teams who have been consistant enough and played brilliant football on many occasions this season and they are City and Spuds imo.
Agree with that too. Bolton & Valencia were definitely our best performances but I remember Bolton being very unlucky not to score at least a couple. I think the worrying thing Drogs and the point I should've put forward is that we ALWAYS look like we're going to concede! I've no doubt we can score a couple against Napoli but can we keep a clean sheet?

Spot on Tel, i think apart from Cavani an Levezzi they were worse than us in the first leg, imo they were there for the taken and dont forget they were at home, so ''IF'' we can keep them 2 quite we've got every chance of turning this tie around, ever the optimist me ;-)) COME ON YOU BAAAAALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS
i think europes 2nd cup is way underrated and actually very difficult to win, prem clubs seem to always struggle in it and now we see both utd and city floundering in it.
