I'll second that! I remember being in Athens when we flew out on a 2 day package to watch us in the final against Real Madrid in 1971! We were winning 1-0 when they scored in the last minute and earned a replay! That was 2 days later and we had to fly out the next day! Me and my pals ended having to watch it on telly back home after all( flew home with the players WAGS). Remember partying up til the sun came up! I think I'd rather win that than be KO'd in the CL quarter finals!
1971 !! i remember those games, i started supporting chelsea in 1970 after the leeds fa cup final. I would also rather win that then go out in the cl quarters.
Much like the league cup, the europa is worth winning and the final would be a great occassion, however it just takes too many matches to get there and puts so much strain on your season. As for next week, if we can get an early goal Napoli will **** themselves and we have every chance of turning it around. If it's still 0-0 at half time we will be in trouble as I can see them picking us off on the break if we have to commit forward in the later stages.
I think they will park the bus! As RDM says we will take each game as it comes! If we can put on a show against Stoke and collect 3 points, then hopefully we'll be getting more confidence back in the side! Thats what we're going to need in bundles if we're going to claw 2 goals back!
