After spending the whole of testing telling us the 'headline' lap times are meaningless, he's now analysing the average lap times. Despite these still not reflecting fuel loads, tyre compounds, constant speed tests etc. they're just as 'notoriously difficult indicator of form' as the 'headline lap times'.

I do like the analysis, just ignore the facts and go with a random number. Its not like the drivers are on varied.... everything <doh>

If you're at track-side to watch your own car, are you going to look away from other cars? No. Newey is making comparisons.

As for Red Bull's lower mileage (than the other 'big' teams), you could be right. However, it may be simply that they were able to go through their programme with fewer hitches than others, since there is no point in repetitive pounding of a track if everything has been evaluated as far as possible.

It also could just be that *sigh* they're so far ahead they can afford to relax a little and save a little bit of money for later on in the season.

Haha! Well, along with Ferrari, I think Red Bull have shown little concern about sticking to any pre-arranged budget&#8230;
