I just tried to get my life changing yankee on in Hills, a £10 ew yakee had to be phoned through to some cretin to approve, he spent ages taking the cashiers instruction and after 10 mins I told them not to bother and walked out.
High St bookies prefer those that sit on roulette machines for an hour than racing punters...

Just a small one for me today

    14.15 hereford

    Unpartou - 22/1 e/w

A new nicholls french raider, has won over in france but was disappointing on 1st english run, the step up in distance will suit as he will stay. So hes worth a small e/w punt at this price.

    Afternoon All

horrible days racing, might just do a placepot at each meeting to keep me occupied at work.

Having said that, there may be a couple of small each way bets to be had,

    so gone with
    Lingfield 4.00 Fosters Road 12/1
    Hereford 4.15 Midnight Spirit 15/2
    Hereford 4.45 Alpha Way 16/1

I stopped going to the bookie shops down here years ago, when the cheap so-and-so's made a surcharge (or tax) on e/w bets, and/or anything to do with place wagers. Don't know if Oddy ever experienced that up where he is, but it was certainly so down here with Bet2000, etc. Unbelievable. There are very few "real" bookies around any more?

If you're not on the Fly at 5-4 now lads forget it, he's into 4-5 based on Oddschecker. Can confirm they limited singles to £100 in there shops as I was in this morning and ended up doing couple a doubles on him with Quevega and Sizing viewing HF as a price booster in those doubles...

Afternoon guys, not much on offer today so its looking like a no bet for me. Good luck to all who play on a very poor days racing, but Cheltenham just around the corner.

Anyone get a glimpse of the Comet on Saturday what an amazing sight

I think we call all agree that the roulette/fruit machines have been the worst introduction into the bookies! When was the last time they did a "betting" competition with a prize to the winner yet there is a near weekly comp in most of the big chain shops! This also brings in a different type of clientele! Now I am no snob but some of the people frequenting bookies make it an unenjoyable experience! These "stop-gap" machines also encourage those with a win to a quick return with their winnings and actively encourage disastrous gambling! Its about time something was done to at least limit the machine numbers though we are all adults I suppose! Anyhows small stake betting all week and whatever returns a boost to Cheltenham stakes! Happy punting all!

    Totally agree Gazboy.
I don't let these machiners upset me, I'm too busy getting my head round Brushwood Park, Sprint Valley and Steepledowns.
Breath of fresh air in Billy Hills today, they do virtual cycle racing <laugh>

I love how Ladbrokes sell cans of pop and bars of chocolate <laugh> <rofl> makes me laugh every time I see the fridges. For the mug punters who are placing 10p bets from opening time to closing time. Won't even pop next door for a can of pop and a mars bar
