Throwing this open to both Newcastle and Sunderland boards, so try and keep it good natured.

I usually listen to Total Sport on Radio Newcastle and the subject of the internationals came up and they listed off the players who are away on international duty and it got me think as to what first team players are missing from both sides

Newcastles first teamers are:

Krul (Netherlands) in London
Cabaye(France) in Bremen Germany
Titote (Ivory Coast) in Abidjan
Santon(Italy) in France
Cisse has been withdrawn from Senegal

Sunderland
Sess - Qualification match in Ethiopia
El Mohamodi (Ahmed Elmohamady) - Friendly in Eygpt (I think)
Campbell - England
Larsson (Sweden)
McClean (Ireland)
Mingolet (Belgium)
Bendtner (Denmark)
O'shea (Ireland)
Westwood (Ireland)
Vaughan (Wales)

All others not 100% sure but know they are away.

Do you see this as being harmful in the build up to the derby, not only because of the risk of picking up injuries and traveling but also cutting into preperation time for the match?

NUFC have a number of fringe players away on international, but this has been based on first team players.

Had the lists been the other way around, I'd be a bit concerned ahead of this match. How do the Sundeland lads feel about it? Especially as most of the matches are pointless friendlies.

Betting on boobies?

Surely we've got more internationals than that?

That is what I thought, but that is pretty much the list they read out on the radio and it lists them on NUFC.com. As I say there are fringe players liker Fergusson, Drummet, Vukis, Kadar. But those are the big hitters for us.

Got to say in response the original question never easy to prepare for a match when you have players away on international duty, however is it any different to when you've had a mid week game and the game is on Sunday which means both teams have an extra day to prepare.

Cambell won't get picked tommorow as he is from the north east!, so he will be fit for sunday, and another thing if he was definetly playing would Sunderland supporters go to wembley on a 500 mile exursion to see him play?, or would they going there for nothing.

Capello's not manager anymore <party>. Also on top of this there are 3 strikers there tomorrow so there is a good chance that he will get a run out, think personally he will play 45 minutes.

If only Elmohamady could get injured. Another £2 million wasted by the obese geordie fool

sod off.

Who wishes injury on someone else, regardless of your motiviation?

Elmo is a constant on our bench, if he was totally **** and MON didnt like him at all then he wouldnt make the squad at all.

YOu also forget the others players Bruce bought and who are now 1st team regulars.

nomroegeordies has to be a WUM?

In response to the OP, the international "break" (I swear these things used to be actual breaks!) is badly timed to say the least.. It's bad enough that the squad don't get a decent week's training in, but the worst part is Fraizer. He hasn't played very much at all recently, and I'll bet MON was saving him to give him a full 90 mins against you lot. Can't really risk that now if he plays any more than say 20 mins for England tonight...
