Went to the game saturday, and from the start I was disappointed with the line-up. Just one upfront against a mediocre west brom side, was too negative for my liking. We had campbell and bendtner on the bench, it didn't make sense to me. After west broms mauling of a below par and spirited wolves, we should have started more aggressively, played 2 up top, and tried for an early goal. Instead we let gave them the momentum and they never looked back. I think MON got it wrong this time (for the first time) and hope he learns from that and gets the boys ready for the biggest game of the season.
There's an article iv'e posted somewhere on another thread, where MoN....states "i will not change, chasing lost causes"...or along them lines... How-ever against W Brom..................blame the players...they were ****e....sure the man will shake them up for the mags.
4-5-1 is usually best away from home. You want to be cautious and pack out the midfield to try and keep the game under control. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just look at what happened to us when we went 4-4-2 at White Heart Lane.
Did he get it wrong, well we lost 4-0 so its an easy shot, however 2 problems, 1. He played the same formation for a number of games and won them all. 2. He changed to 4-4-2 second half with same result as first half. Maybe a few got it wrong and just had a very bad day, over now.
Just one of those days, we accept it and move on. Let us not distract us from the other brilliant performances since MON took over. Really annoys me how some people get so negative after one game...it happens to ALL teams occassionally that they get beaten when they don't expect to.
i think some on here have taken this the wrong way. Instead of making stupid comments, why not counter my arguement if you dont agree.
Too many championship players still at this club, and league 2 defending. We hoof the ball up the pitch too often, don't k€€p hold of th€ ball €ith€r.
Doesnt matter whether he got it right or wrong, the game is over, we lost. end of. Now we learn from it and move on to the next one, we cant keep looking back at what if's.
