Just over a month in with the lad in the team, how do you think he's settled? I think in his previous few games, forgetting some of the results he has played really quite well. He reminds me of JT so much in the way he kicks the ball / runs etc, definitely goes without saying a great buy. I'd try him and JT in the middle of the park, a solid pairing. What to do with Luiz though, we would miss his spontaneous runs, incredible through balls and goal scoring technique. Try him in place of bosingwa at right back? Could be shout
Cahill is awful. Terrible signing. So glad we didnt get him. If his rumoured wages are true then it shows chelsea have learnt nothing and the rebuilding project is going nowhere.
He's quick and looks promising...needs some time with Terry to learn from. Luiz...Stick him in midfield for me...look at Gareth Bale...started off as a left back and was moved into midfield...one of the most sought after players in the world
I had a rant about him the other day...centre half - no chance! Full back is a fair shout but he doesn't get back even now if he's halfway up the pitch so Midfield would be better...he's extremely talented, but ****e defensively Not sure AVB would do it, but he needs to do something...according to the Sunday Times he was nearly out this week but Rafa nor Capello would take the job on a temporary basis... I'm not one for all the papers say, but the Times is generally quite good to be honest.
Yeah I saw on Guillem Ballague's twitter that Rafa was close to taking AVB's place if results didn't improve in the short term. I think the next few games is really a chance now for AVB to take a gamble and really experiment with who to play where etc, I know deep down he won't but it needs to be done!
He said after buying a 9 foot broomstick from Germany who is largely touted as a complete useless twat.
Just read an article on the Guardian saying that he was originally a centre mid, but AVB believes he has the qualities of a centre half so they'll carry on as per... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/feb/27/david-luiz-chelsea-criticism
IMO he is settling in well! Had a decent game on Saturday and I think he'll make a good pairing with JT! As to Luiz--if I've said it once-I've said it a hundred times--he is a MIDFIELDER! I see him as a sort of Lamps of the future--going forward a scoring goals--though I dont see him as our penalty taker!
He took one against Leverkusen(I think) which was fairly poor. Although if you compare it to some of the pens yesterday it doesn't look so bad. I can't see him becoming a top centre back, he's clearly a great footballer so why not move him in to midfield? He's better chasing a player down than facing up to them too. As for Cahill, he had an impressive season and a half for Bolton and then looked fairly unremarkable last year. It's tough to see how a player could impress in Bolton's defence this season though and joining a new club mid season can be difficult, especially when it's such a big step up. I don't think it's fair to judge him until he's had a full season at Chelsea.
Some facts about Luiz for all you doubters : We have kept 13 clean sheets this season, Luiz has started 11 of those games. In the games he has started we have conceeded 0.89 goals, of those he didn't start we have conceeded 1.33
Not only do I think Luiz is a very good centre-back I also believe he will become a World-class centre back very soon. So feck off you doubters
