I'd leave him where he is. JT is picking up a lot of injuries now & still has his back problem. I'd give him a try at right back though, just in case Ivanovic gets hurt. Perish the thought of that useless twat Bosingwa getting back in.
Back to thread, Cahill played very well last game, but Luiz was even better. Together they were excellent and improved greatly from the Napoli performance. Cahill looks an excellent replacement for Terry, which is just as well because with his injury and trial, we might not see much of him this season. Cahill is an orthodox straight forward CB, with better than average talent and room to improve more. Luiz will continue to divide opinion, but in mine has improved defensively to the point where he is now being judged on his early reputation and not his current performances. He may turn into an excellent midfielder, but for now he and Cahill are looking pretty good.
Bumping this thread as its coming up to a few weeks now. Everyone's thoughts changed or stayed the same? I think he's consistently been one of our best players as of late. Great buy!
Surprised how good Cahill is; exceeded expectations. Thought he was a Spurs/Arsenal/Liverpool standard player; but he could be a Chelsea standard defender
