Arsenal87 is basically playing down and dismissing all the feats Spurs have achieved in their history. You think Wenger shares the exact same opinion and that's the reason why he will wreck the squad next season, if he's still the manager?

His dangerously Liverpudlian post, especially how it rubbishes legitimate observations about key weaknesses in the side that Wenger refuses to address let alone fix, is what I was referring to. Arsenal are lacking in several defensive positions which, whilst not an issue when facing cannon fodder, teams set up to try and hold on for a point (or teams that intent on self-destructing for half the game...), they are frequently on more regular occasions exposed against teams that come to play the game they want to play.

Arsenal won deservedly. They were favourites to win the game, so it's no big shock that they won.

It was a great game, and all credit to Arsenal, they played the better football on the day.

We have to regroup and go again next week.

Unlike Arsenal we still have a realistic chance of winning a trophy this season, so I'm looking forward to the FA Cup games, as well as the forthcoming Prem games.

Don't delude yourself, Piskie. There's enough of that going on at your club as it is! Yes, you outplayed us on the day, and deservedly won. However, we got everything wrong from tactics, to not matching Arsenal's intensity, and desire to win. Why we employed the tactics of sitting deep and inviting pressure after going 1-0 up, I have no idea. It was completely wrong - you could see what was coming if we didn't wake up. We never did! Simple as.
If you think this heralds some new dawn for you Gooners, I think you're going to be sadly disappointed. Your problems are far more deep rooted than that!

You're 4th because Chelsea and Liverpool have been poor too. Make all the excuses you like, but I thought Arsenal were a team who were within touching distance of the title every season. Now a team with a woeful defence, who might sneak 4th by being the best of a bad bunch, should be lauded? Not in my view. It's not an anti-Arsenal comment; it's just an obvious observation by a neutral, who appears to be able to see what some fans can't.

The table doesn't lie. As much as I hate to say it, the two Manchester clubs are currently far superior to the all those below them. We all have some catching up to do.

I dont think Piskie is deluding himself on this occasion. When Arsenal play like that, they are simply too good for Spurs (and most clubs). The reason Spurs are better than Arsenal this year is because they have been more consistent, but when Arsenal put it together, as they did for 60 minutes yesterday, there is really nothing Spurs could have done.

I have heard a lot of cack this morning about how Lennon would have made a difference. What a joke.

Just accept that you were very lucky to get away with only a 5-2 thrashing. Piskie is wrong in that he thought it could have been 7-2, because it could have been more. A fair result would have been 8-1.

Credit to Arsenal, they definitely outplayed us and created a good amount chances even up to when we took a two goal lead(which we didn't deserve).

I didn't expect either side to have a great game but Walker spent a lot of the second half injured, having been a late doubt before the game and King looked totally out of sorts, whether that was a rumoured late injury or a rare bad day at the office for him.

Superb goal from RVP though, there's not been many better this season.

Agree with this (especially the ), but just wanted to add that King def looked injured. His running was the worst I have seen. Ironically, Daws was great when he came on. I think he deserves more trust when Ledley isn't 100%.

I'm sure Ledley King has some of the Paul McGrath syndrome, you never actually know how fit you are until the whistle goes, that said I don't think 'Arry would have taken unecessary risks if he'd been aware of any knock.

I looked at the sides before the game and for the first time in my life I saw the Tottenham bench and thought a few of them would strengthen our team, Dawson being one of them.
Something was wrong with Tottenham, definitely not the side I saw beat Newcastle a couple of weeks back....

Let's not get carried away, one win does not make a season, even if its against the Spurs.

What us gooners should really question is why its taken this team so long to perform at such a level? The biggest question is, can they continue with this? The next games against Liverpool and AC Milan is a good start....

In a NLD, it's unforgivable!
I also suspect that Harry fielded more than one player who wasn't match fit. Not great tactics in a game of that intensity. I just hope Harry and the players have learnt something, and make sure performances like that are not ever allowed to occur again. It was like watching the spurs of a few years ago - caving in like a pack of cards!

And thats also the reason United are 2nd, it is a pretty poor United squad right now especially compared to past seasons. You are having to bring people out of retirement and rely on old badgers.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. You guys just see what you want to see. You played as well as you did for two reasons. Firstly, we got our tactics completely wrong by sitting far too deep after we were 1-0 up, instead of pushing home the obvious upper hand we had at that time. We conceded far too much possession. And, as I've said, worst of all, from a Spurs fans' point of view, we failed to match Arsenal's intensity, and will to win. Nowhere near good enough!
If you want to herald this one- off freak result as the hailing of a new dawn, that's up to you. I just think you're going to be sadly disappointed.

Arsenal battered us. Undeniably. Our plan worked to start with, but the dodgy pen just put fire in their bellies (something they have been short of a lot this season) and we retreated and invited them on. We didn't defend as a team as we have for most of the season and their possession had to come to something. A change from 4-4-2 screamed to be made from halfway through the first half but we sat on our hands, in truth we were a shambles for all but but the first 20 minutes. I think a lot of Spurs players have started to believe the hype and they payed Arsenal little respect. I hope this a wake up call to all involved. Any team could do a number on a Spurs side playing like that.

As for this being the start of something big for Arsenal, well that's what they said after the Blackburn result.

Given Vermaelen's recent injury history, you can not blame him for feeling incensed by Parker's excessive follow through. If someone did that to me, I would have been very annoyed. And if someone did that to you, you would be angry too, especially if you had a history of being a little injury prone.

It was a noble thing for Parker to do to see if Vermaelen was okay, but had he not slid in so late, he would still be available for the Man United game and you wouldn't have finished the game with 10 men. And besides, when Vermaelen got up, he shook Parker's hand, so don't know why you're complaining.

There's no point trying to take the moral high ground, Schteffen, especially when you haven't really got a leg to stand on.

I'm not taking the moral high ground, if it was me, as soon as Vermaelen batted away my hand I'd have walked straight off the pitch. That kind of challenge is normal in football too and TV knew it but he decided that he could dither on the ball without any pressure from a Spurs player and got his toes trodden on.
