Chris Samba off to Russia on a 4 year deal???

    WTF!!!!

Always could picture him perfectly in red & white.

This baffles me. Money and only money?

Big money owner. Same squad as Eto'o and Zirkhov.

    Always loved Samba. Irritating.

I reckon its to raise the level of home grown players to prepare for the 2018 world cup. The amount of money these Russian owners have could see an exodus of a canny few players looking for the big pay day.

He's a good player is Samba, but also seems to carry a lot of baggage...

Think there was at least 15 clubs in the Premier League who would have happily signed Samba, so seems strange to go to Russia now.

Blackburn could be in trouble now selling Samba, but back to tomorrows game and i hope we win 2-1 Fraizer and Mclean.

Not necessarily those 2 goal scorers but I would agree with you about the scoreline.

Only 3 points off a Europa League spot at the moment though. And gets to live in Moscow and train daily with the likes of Eto'o and Roberto Carlos while earning a decent amount. Not as bad a decision as people are making out. Its not like he's going to Qatar.

The Russians can afford to pay massive sheckles as they are awash with oil money.

    Just ask Sepp, he knows.

This is a decision both blackburn and samba will regret massively over the coming months. I reckon the player could have stayed in England, at a top half club, in the summer and well paid; and blackburn have no chance of staying up without him in defence. Russia is no place for black footballers.

A totally ridiculous sequence of events imo but one that sums up the love of money over career in the modern game.

To be fair, the standard of the Russian league now is getting to be very high indeed.

As well as the obvious mega-money transfers, there is an undercard of superb players like Dzudzak, Honda, and of course the vast majority of the Russian league.

It's reaching the point where people will be attracted to the league anyway, as it's closing in, standard wise, on the big 4 leagues.

Add a World Cup and some great new stadiums and infrastructure, and you have a league set to boom.
