Do we need another midfielder?

Amoo, Cairney and Belaid don't get a look in as it is.

I'd rather we didn't sign anyone else this season. Unless he will replace Harper then fair enough.

Another young prospect that NP is looking at. Played once in the Europa League and that's it - never been out on loan before so would be an interesting move

Not sure what would happen with the situation involving the number of loaned players we have though - Guzan, Gerrard, Evans, Amoo and Hobbs would all surely be the 5 permitted loanees in our match day squad. And then there's Mannone to come back

"Hope has been on Everton’s books for a number of years, and the Childwall-born midfielder has been a regular in the Academy side since being given his debut against Liverpool at the age of 15. After appearing frequently for the under-16s, Hope graduated to the under 18 side and then became a reserve team regular in 2008/09.

A central midfield player, he loves a tackle and is often seen driving forward from deep.
He signed a one year professional deal upon turning 17 and is hopeful of a bright future at the Club.
Hope was handed a debut off the bench in the Europa League dead rubber against BATE Borisov in December 2009"

Sounds good :) We need someone who aint afraid to tackle in central midfield ^-^

Fair point about us needing a tackler in central midfield, but a combination of Evans and this kid who's never played before in the middle is vastly inexperienced. I'm not Harper's biggest fan, but he knows what to expect at this level.

Plus, Cairney looked OK at the weekend considering he's only played a couple of games in the last 4 months. I was very critical of him at the start of the season, but it only seems right that he gets another chance. Another CM and Cairney can say goodbye to his place

This mornings story is no new additions, this evenings is that we're loaning a central midfield player, I can't keep up.

Assuming he would replace Harper, he sounds like exactly what we're missing.

His arrival should certainly polar-ise opinion(sorry, wrong thread)

Has all the qualities we need but ??? the 5 loan players in matchday squad unless we have injuries that may flair up towards the end of season and this is "just in case"

I'd imagine at this stage we'd only bother bringing in loanees with a few to buying in the summer. Reports suggest he's very highly rated by everton mind

Maybe NP is lining him up to cover inuries (we only have Evans, Harper and Cairney who are true CM at the moment) or Fergie has told us there is no chance in getting Evans on a permanent deal in the summer. If we can get all our loanees on pemanent deals, we will have an exciting team next season.

If it's true, I think either Man United have told us we can't have Evans, so we're looking for a replacement, or he's disappointed with Amoo and will drop him out the squad to allow us more Hope........
