1985 warky. Coventry had to win their last 4 games to stay up. Everton were champions, coventry went to goodison and played what must have been evertons 1000th choice team and won, thus sending us down. Us bitter? Us holding a grudge? surely not mate
And we had just won the Milk Cup and were in the top half of the table until we did and I don't remember us winning another game after that.
If you don't hold a grudge your not supporting properly David Pleat ruined my childhood dancing across Maine rd in his hush puppies when the raddy antic creature relegated my beloved city , I could still stick the nut on the smarmy twat 30 odd years later I would put in room 101 Richard Keys Clare Balding Eric Gates- don't know why but always detested him Baconface Neville creature
I must admit that I still hold a grudge for that ****ing Prick Paul Power! His goal deep into extra time at Villa Park cost us from reaching Wembley in 1981. And those ****ing Man City ****ers who spat at Kevin Beattie when he had to be helped off the field! Disgusting ****s the lot of the them!
So it's not just budgie grudgies, then, JWM. I bet you'd find most supporters do, for losing with the last kick of the match, having a star player 'stolen', conceeding the penalty that never was, etc.
Good job that we didn't get involved in a Cup Run this year then isn't it? - Step back out of firing line and exit quickly to the left!!!
2 suggestions. a) Football Clubs who collect tax on behalf of the Government, spend it on other things and then expect, and get, sympathy from the fans when the Taxman takes them to Court and puts the Club in administration. Sympathy? They should be charged by the Police with theft. b) The Taxman for letting them get away with it for too long. It is our ( the taxpayers ) money and action should be taken quickly if a Club falls into arrears.
