Your 'opinion' on Lucas is now at odds with practically every football pundit, reporter and professional. I grant you he isn't an Alonso, or a Xavi, but he's bloody effective at what he does, he's not wasteful in possession, and he does his job with minimal fuss. Probably the only similar footballer in the Premier League who can do his job better is Yaya Toure. You clearly have little appreciation for 'water-carriers' - I assume you want all your players to demonstrate flair and creativity. Shame most of them don't like to dirty their kits or sweat property for a living.

Chelsea won't get third - just admit to the facts. They are misfiring and look ordinary - Terry is declining fast, David Luis is talented but wildly inconsistent, the midfield is aging before the fans' eyes and the manager's insistence on playing Drogba and Torres ahead of Sturridge is damaging the club game on game.

Your opinion on Carroll is mystifying, given his age. Torres hadn't had a good game in a red shirt for nearly 12 months, but you think £50mil was a better spend for a record, and ditto for Shevchenko - paying for a record? Paying for a history?. There is little chance that in 10 years' time Carroll will be considered a bigger waste of money than either Sheva or Torres - you're clearly forgetting the vast wage bills to add onto the already massive transfer fees. Add onto this Carroll's recent performances, particularly against Citeh and United (cue your excuses for these 'superior' teams failing to beat Liverpool whose line was led by 'useless Andy Carroll') in the Cup games...

I'm pretty sure you're just a run of the mill hater with a pretty turn of phrase. You remind me of another poster on the old 606 who though himself superior, but was basically just another opinionated LFC-obsessed hater who made bland safe predictions, but in the end, his hatred simply shone through...

    Schofield,

I have to ask a very simple question. Why do you bother posting on this board?

You already know that your opinions (and that's all that they are ) are not well received here. When you have to refer back to claims made by KPR (who incidently has been banned from not606 for ages) then you really have lost the argument. Hence apart from you liking to see your own thoughts published or take some perverse delight in annoying others, there really is no point in your presence here.

Unfortunately he's wasting his time. DS has no interest in debate, it's all just attention-seeking.

I don't hate LFC, never have, never will.

I have said on a number of occasions how important a strong LFC is to English Football, FFS living where I do, surrounded by 'Mancs', it would be ****ing fantastic if you won the Premier League.

And growing up, Bob Paisley showed me what real class was, the way he conducted himself, the way you won, with dignity, pride of course, but never arrogant. Also your transfer dealings with smaller less successful/fashionable Clubs were conducted with a sense of fairness, paying decent money for young Players.

My view on LFC under Rafa was different, but that was about him and his attitudes, not you as a Club.

I don't come on here to wind anyone up, although I clearly have, I like discussing Football. I am interested in what has happened at Anfield, especially with the way Hicks and Gillet ripped the guts out of you. I admired Kenny Dalglish as a Player, paying to watch him and Rush on several occsions in the 80's, he has been a terrific Manager, and as an Ambassador for your Club (despite being foolish over Suarez),, is there really anyone better?

My opinions, expressed on here, are simply what I believe, not made through rose-tinted glasses, not meant to be inflamatory, just honest opinion.

I don't get everything right, don't proclaim to, but I will call out deluded nonsense, and not in an abusive manner. I don't respond to the silly name calling, because it's a messageboard, people talk ****e, thems the rules.

Oh, and I had a bet, with Raaaauull/Lucaaaas just to keep the season a little more interesting. Which I'll gladly pay out if I lose! And equally happily to swap any winnings for a ticket on the Kop next season, and you can all say 'hello'

Is this really you? That was a well-contructed post. However, if you know anything about football as you proclaim, can you explain, in detail, why you don't rate Lucal Leiva? I have been a Liverpool supporter for 48 years, so I suppose I'm biassed. However, I can only think of one other supporter of any club that I know personally who didn't rate Lucas, and even he commented on Sunday how much we're missing him. If Lucas had played against united in the recent league game, we would not have lost.

Classic wum traits no:47- the "bad news sandwich"

Schofield claiming how good ex players/magagers etc WERE but still managing to sandwich in a dig in about what is happening at present and claiming that admitting to admire previous greats etc somehow makes his views on the present more worth while. As if <laugh>

He's done ok, in a very ordinary LFC Team.

But think about him in the context of the last competitive side you had, with arguably the strongest Midfield in the world at that time, Alonso/Mascherano/Gerrard.

He is nowhere near that level.

He reminds me a little of Denilson a few years back at Arsenal, his stats said he won tackles and rarely lost the ball, AFC Fans were very defensive of him, "He's in Brazil's Squad", "It said in the paper Milan want to sign him" etc

    He was bang average.

    Dig?

Kenny did make a fool of himself over Suarez, don't take my word for it, he's said so himself.

I rate Lucas higher than Mascherano: Mascherano was a meaner tackler yes, so his efforts were more noticable, but Lucas does the same job in a tidier fashion, plus his passing range is better.
