Only 1 bookmaker (B365) has priced the race up tonight - I think that's crap personally. I can't place a bet from work tomorrow as all the gambling sites are blocked so if I want to back it with my bookie (Totesport) I have to do it tonight and take SP. I don't see why bookies can't price up all the races the night before - very poor show.

I agree with your synopsis about tomorrow. He only has Eleazar to beat and gets 8lb from that horse so should win. He has too to get in at Cheltenham I believe but the Foxhunters is for Amateur riders so tomorrows pilot will be on him at Cheltenham too. I think Barbers Shop at his best was brilliant over 3m but didnt get home over the extra GC trip. He looked in decline the last time we saw him so Cheltenham would be a no go for me.

To be fair oddy they have all been distracted by the fare on offer at Newbury. Sad that two cracking handicaps are due to go off at the same time tomorrow.
Tante Sisse and Off The Ground should have a good "set to" tomorrow while Gullinbursti (9-2 already mopped up) is hopefully hosing up at Newbury.

I've e-mailed Totesport to see if they will offer me a price tonight. Bet 365 go 11/2 and I'd like some of that - I can see her being well supported

I agree- they should price up all races the night before. the amount of times, someone has tipped a horse up- and the bookies havnt priced it up so have had to take s/p which was massivley shorter than the night before!!

Just read the small print;

1. Open a new account.

2. Bet £20 on Hurricane Fly to win
the Champion Hurdle at 8/11.

3. Get FREE £40 Bet.

4. If Hurricane Fly wins, we’ll pay out
at the 8/11 price.

5. We’ll top-up your account to reflect
the 2/1 price within 24 hours.

What a superb card and what a pain in the arse that my Lieu day from work was today and not tomorrow!

Here are my selections:

12.10 Newbury: SPRINTER SACRE 4/7

Has looked a very, very good chaser in two starts so far. He was always though of in chasing terms and anything he achieved over hurdles was to be a bonus. It will be a very interesting comparison with Hold Fast tomorrow. It is almost strange to find the horse going to the Arkle priced at 4/7 and the horse going to the Champion Chase set to go off at around 5/1. If Sprinter Sacre is continuing to improve, he might be a very short price for the Arkle tomorrow evening. I think they will look to settle him a bit more tomorrow though.

12.40 Newbury: LONG RUN 1/2

Burton Port has a serious record fresh and I suspect he is the one for the forecast. Closely matched with Long Run on 2010 RSA form, but Long Run is a class act now, has had two runs this season to blow away any cobwebs and has been a very close 2nd to a magnificent Kauto Star at Kempton. If he gets into a jumping rhythm, he ought to win by 5 lengths or so.

1.15 Newbury: ZARKANDAR 11/4

This is a prep run and to some extent that is factored into his price. If this fella has improved from last season then he will be a very good hurdler this season and would be capable of winning this handicap off just 11 stone 1. It is a fantastic weight (for a horse who put the Triumph to bed very well and has had the form franked really nicely since) to run off, and if he is to be serious about challenging Hurricane Fly, then of course you would be expecting him to win this. But it is a big field, it could develop into a funny race, and he needs to first and foremost get round. If he has a bit of luck in running, I think he has the engine to put this to bed late on. But it wont be an on the bridle job- he is not that sort of horse.

2.55 Newbury: MOSSLEY 6/1

This fella is very much overpriced and he showed signs of improvement over fences when 2nd to Join Together at Cheltenham. He has been given a nice break, and that was a gruelling sort of race over 3m 2f at Cheltenham, which played to the strengths of the winner that day. 2 and a half miles round NEwbury ought to see him in a better light and at 6/1 I think you'll get a bold bid for your money, especially as For Non Stop is not the most reliable (though talented), whilst Cedre Bleu looked a fortunate winner LTO and Walkon could still yet be anything back at 2 and a half miles.

In the 3.30...Bumpers are nice to try and find value in but as a full brother to Grands Crus, Gevrey Chambertin is apparantly highly regarded (won by 30L on debut) and whilst we only really know their full talents much further down the line, it will be nice to see him up against some other nice horses today. Watching brief for me though.

Unfortunately I used to have one and did their self-exclusion cos I was betting too much - very difficult (if not impossible) to reopen

What do we think will happen to the Supreme Novices market if Vulcanite hoses up tomorrow? He's already pretty short after the Pricewise shift, could he shorten even further if he wins impressively tomorrow?

Still can't see him reversing form with Tetlami though ;)

Hopefully we will see the real Ollie Magern turn up tomorrow in his Hunters Chase and then he can jump them all into the ground, very tempted to do the Eleazar/Ollie Magern double.

I dont think we will have to see what happens, I just dont think he will win. My money is on Montbazon. Although he was beaton by Colour Squadron by a length over this course and distance in November and has since gone on to run a belter at Grade 1 level, However he gave the impression that drying ground might suit him ideally when travelling powerfully for a long way on his last visit here and proved that he's still in fine fettle when bolting up at 1-10 down at Plumpton recently

Cracking day of jump racing. Really, really looking forward, (as Hurricane Fly's biggest fan), to seeing Zarkander lay down a real marker to the champ tomorrow. Just hope this Zarkander wins pulling double and can show at least the Champ will have something give him a race come Cheltenham! Need something to make it more interesting and hopefully an impressive Zarkander win will make for a better price on the Champ!!

Cedre bleu can win at 6-1.

Dont waste your money! <laugh> Elezar is carrying to much weight to win, and with Barbers Shop running fresh tomorrow he will cruise to victory!
