I mean the equalizer, winner vs United, assists and goals he scored are all nothing right? Not to mention the fact that he's being overplayed in his season where he returned from a leg break under an inept manager
The point I was trying to make is I don't think there are an abundance of great players out there.. You lot are one of a number of clubs who need players but aren't getting any.. Why because there isn't that many out there none you could get over them either going to city or Madrid or such like..
Forget City or Madrid. We just want players who will put in the effort or a manager that will motivate.
Slow, gives the ball away, poor passing, terrible tackler, easily brushed off the ball, stupid back flicks that never work - i call that ****.
Patrick Herrmann of Borussia Monchengladbach. Very talented, and there's no chance of us signing Mario Gotze, so we should get this guy who is a slightly inferior version of him.
We don't need great players - we need decent players .. fit for purpose and there are plenty out there we could get - but Wenger insists he does not want to harm anyone's development In 2008 Wenger had the chance to sign Modric but opted against it because we had Fabregas - a player that everyone knew at some point would go back to Barcelona - especially after winning the Euros with Spain, it is obvious he would want more trophies. Are you trying to tell me that there are not players all over the place that could improve us ? No better LBs than Gibbs ? No better DMs than Song ? No better midfielders than Ramsey ? No better wingers than Walcott ? No better Ams than Arshavin ? Do me a lemon.
Agree. We dont have to buy messi or sneijder or silva. We just want to improve. Its better to buy someone slightly better than walcrap than it is to just have the money go into the owners pockets.
Obviously it was a very poor performance and result tonight for you guys but I think people are being a bit harsh on Wenger. I don't think anyone expected anything other than the Manc clubs to be the top two so you're second best of the rest which isn't bad given the sort of money Chelsea, Liverpool and even Sunderland have spent in comparison. Still in the FA Cup too. Wenger's obviously not able to do the things he once could but who could realistically come in and be a certain improvement?
I don't get what your argument is, you seem to be pretty pedantic at this point. While I agree with you that Ramsey is not **** and hasn't been ****, he hasn't been very good - so you can see the point that Jayram is trying to make. Even the commentator today commentated on his flicks that never came off. What did Ramsey do today of any note ? Absolutely nothing and he has had far too many of these sort of games this season. We shouldn't be starting with him because we haven't played hardly any good games when he has started - and with him AND Walcott on the pitch its a massive handicap. He doesn't look ready yet.
Who bought the players ? Who picked the team ? Who chose the tactics ? Who chose the formation ? It is the fault of one person only and it aint me !
Yes tonight he was wrong but Milan are a very good side and even if a better manager with the right tactics was in place it would have been a real struggle to get something. I just think that a lot of Arsenal fans in their late teens and 20s have grown up with a lot of success and expect a bit too much now when the reality isn't so terrible.
Worse start in 58 years !! A strong possibility of losing our final truly great player at the end of the season if we don't get CL football !! Being overtaken by Spurs !! Every year seeing a reduction in quality, that Milan team were NOT good at all, our team last season would've beat them. We made them look good, don't believe the hype. Shocking defending, shocking midfield and no attack worth talking about, that was Arsenal tonight. But because we beat 10 man Blackburn 7-1 the good times are here ....
And despite all of that you're the fourth or fifth best team in the country. Could it not just be that this is nearer to your true position and the years of major success were a positive blip as a result of some extraordinary signings and management? I'm not trying to wum but it just comes across as a bit spoilt that people expect so much.
No that is NOT what it is. Wenger used to buy proper players in the past and since seeing his change in policy and a reliance on kids we have slipped backwards every year. Not one of the Invincibles were kids - ok Ashley Cole was quite young but thats it. If Wenger bought men and bought what we needed we wouldn't be in this mess. Look at our goalkeeping problem from a few years back, Arsenal should NEVER have been in that situation. Then we had the CB problem, our DM problem, all problems easily fixed if Wenger admitted we had a problem. Our true position is top 2, thats were we were EVERY YEAR when Wenger bought men not kids.
