Why oh why Wenger keeps playing Walcott ???? He should have read this thread and benched Theo for Blackburn. We have fantastic footballistic experts here who have explained to Arsene that Walcott is not a footballer, he is **** and **** and absolutely useless. And still Wenger keeps playing him. The man has not got a clue...

I am not saying that I wouldn't buy Lamela if I was Wenger, or that I would be upset if Wenger bought him. Im just trying to point out how spending money isn't the certain route to success everyone makes out it is, particularly if you aren't first into the buffet.

I get that no signing is a guaranteed success.

But over the last 7 years or so you have a net gain in transfer dealings of about 20m. Although its a great testament to Wenger that he can keep challenging for top 4 while actually making money don't you wonder that instead of gaining 20m you had a net spend of 50m (still the lowest of the top 6) over the 7 years that maybe your would have had a bit more success in recent years?

I know that no one will ever know but i just feel that there isn't enough... something for the current squad to be title contenders and it is weird to see that in Arsenal because i genuinely don't believe AW is content with being just a top 4 club.

Jayram - we don't want to stop Djourou's development by buyting sensible players !!

Topgun - with all due respect, shut up you Dave ! Rangers ? Thats your justification for Arsenal being a 2 bob team ? Rangers ?? Fukkin Rangers ?

I know, lets not show ANY ambition because we might do a Rangers <doh>

Lets buy **** players who flatter to deceive and have more bad games than good because decent players will mean us doing a Rangers <doh>

  11. As I said before the money is just the latest excuse used by people desperately clinging onto the belief that Wenger is doing a good job.

i'll defend wenger, in fact no, the facts will defend him, top 4 finishes in every season, to coin a phrase his hands are tied behind his back financially, no-one will come in with a magic wand and get arsenal up the table on the same bugdet. football is simple, get good players, keep them. wenger has a good eye for a player, but the financial constraints of running a club sensibly is that good players will leave for bigger money, whoever is in charge of the club makes no difference if man city offer to double a players wages <ok>

    Swamp - yaaaawn.

So lets all give up then because City can spend more than us <doh>

We are where we are 6 years down the line because of bad management, nothing more, nothing less.

nothing to do with fabregas and nasri leaving? and toure? and adebayor? all bar one left for bigger money, the biggest clubs are successful as they find good players and build around them, try telling fergie to sell his best players and start again, whilst trying to win the league, it wouldnt happen...

  15. Fergie has sold his best players and gone on to win the league - Ronaldo anyone?

Fergie has had to deal with numerous injuries and financial constraints yet still won the league.

Money can buy success, yes, but Arsenal's decline has much more than money at it's heart. We were gutless in the big games with Fabregas and Nasri too.

Who sold those players and brought the replacements in and makes them go out and play toothless slow football with no Plan B and no variation in formation ?

I don't know enough about players out there, but I would start by spending £10-£12m each on 3 players, a striker, a decent creative midfielder, in fact, 2 creative players and a striker at the very minimum. Drop Walcott, Ramsey and Rosicky and lets get some end product and consistency going on. I'd get a bully boy CB too, we need one, no nonsense, not someone who will leave it to the next guy. Vermaelen and Koscielny defended like amateurs tonight.

  19. Just get anyone who can replace Ramsey - a card board cut out from Staples for £9.99 would do the job better than Ramsey.

I dont care who he signs, he could sign messi and within 6 months he would be turned into a passing sideways wengabot and be just like Arshavin, Vela , Chamakh etc.

He does that to players , knocks the brilliance out of individual players.
