I tried out when I was a teenager back in the 80's until I broke my leg in 2 places and I never recovered.
 
Good on you , mate! Please do not let the young one`s get at you, remenber you have forgoten what they know in all things so stay cool! Remenber to be old and wise you first must be young and foolish!

Yep with the ball Charity Match for Heart Research at Eastbourne Borough's Ground. He only played for 30 mins ( Mate died in match in the late 80"s and we continued to play to raise money) Spurs all star 11 that also included Gerry Ryan who helped us get fixture I think ex Brighton and a player I played against a few times in Sunday League soccer.

We scored first but lost 6-1

You tried out? For who? The way you talk about the game and the terminology you use suggests to me that you have never played the game at any decent level!
