So we're two injuries away from him playing there for the first team then? I wonder how many people would change their mind and decide we should get another defender in before the loan window shuts if that's the case.
If it got that bad I think we'd drop Evans into CB and bring Oli into the holding midfield role. Worst player on the pitch was our Pele apparently. Dudge was outstanding a few have said, he needs to be the way Dawson's been doing lately if he wants any claim to the left-back position.
Why is it Cullen can score and perform in the reserves but any time he comes on for the first team (accept it's not that regularly) he does nothing.
Agreed, it wasn't a particularly serious suggestion, I just think it's funny that even when nobody is unavailable we don't have enough defenders for the reserves to name a proper team. If the point of the reserves is to bring youth team players forward and help them to break into the first team I don't think the likes of East, Townsend, and Bradley are gaining much by playing alongside Adebola in defence. I know Grimsby have Townsend for the season, I'm just talking in general.
Match report up http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2612219,00.html Interesting that it says the side were "under the guidance of Kevin Kilbane". Have I missed something?
I think it's just that Barmby used to be in charge, I think it was along with Parkin. Now he's first team manager he needed replacing, with Kilbane back from Derby it makes sense to let him do his badges with us so he can think about his after playing days, and he pass on some experience to our youngsters. Anyone know how they lined up? Are the reserves using the same 4231 that the first team are or are they 442 oor even 433?
Just as importantly Mark Oxley seems to be back playing, surely he has to get on the bench now? If he doesn't how will we ever know if he is good enough?
The article in the Fail said that Carson had returned to Sunderland, as Oxley and Gulasci were now providing cover.
