What is he doing! No playing it cool for Harry, no, we will have to wait and see what happens. Straight in, here is the plan, here are my thoughts, this is what I will do.

The one aspect of Harry that I have always criticised is his open naivety when it comes to talking to the media. When the time comes the media will have a very simple job to hang him out to dry, I fear for him. Ironic that this quality of openness is what makes him a good manager for the players. Straightforward tell it as it is Harry.

The quality that will kill him when it comes to the politics of the FA and the England job.

Rather than publicly turn it down, something he would not want to be remembered for, to avoid that, is he doing himself out of even being asked! <laugh>

Remember what they did to Robson. The closest to Harry of all the previous England managers, heart on the sleeve, sincere, straightforward.

They crucified him, it was only his last world cup and reaching the semi-final that saved him from being totally wiped out. I can see those pictures of Robson's face now, torment written large all over it.

Stick to Spurs Harry, stay away from the bastards.

I don't think Scholes would feel able to take on a challenge he wasn't up for 18 months ago before his short retirement.

But he was up for it? He said if the approach had been earlier, he may well have gone. Capello only asked him on the eve of the tournament. That's how I remember it.

WUM HEADLINE! <steam>

"Scottie could do it for sure. I bent over backwards to get him here this summer."

Not a pretty image, 'Arry.

It was a seven man beatdown, wasn't it?
Four wouldn't be enough for Gerrard! <laugh>

Whoever is going to manage England in the Euros needs to be in place for the friendly against Holland on 29th February.

Why?

I think that Redknapp would pick most of the old guard and he might even be able to get them to perform.
It would be a massive embarrassment for all of the recent England managers if he did, too.

Hart
Richards Ferdinand Terry Cole
Parker Scholes
Gerrard Lampard Young
Rooney

He may prefer Johnson or Walker at right-back though, as he's managed both of them.
Taking Richards and Johnson would allow Walker to play in the Olympics, though.

Gerrard's mates got prison sentences, whilst Gerrard acted in self defence - what was that about never walking alone, Stevie?

Wasn't Gerrard charged with affray though?

His mates were up on assault charges, which is clearly what it was esp on further examination of the video footage, and he got charged with affray...for some strange reason<whistle>

He didn't even get charged with that - the jury accepted his cock and bull story about acting in self defence and he walked.

The thing is, his story was utter garbage - his mate elbowed the guy in the face causing him to stumble backwards in the general direction of Gerrard, who feared he'd be attacked (what, by the back of the guy's head?) and repeatedly punched him in the face, before the rest of his mates joined in.

Now, unless the bloke had a third arm growing out the back of his head that was holding a broken bottle, there's no way Gerrard could've been acting in self defence - not least because, to repeatedly punch him in the face, he'd have to turn the bloke around...

Oh so when Gerrard isn't proven guilty our justice system go it wrong and he must still be guilty but ol' arry gets the all clear and there was never any doubt whatsoever and the jury can't possibly have been wrong.

Nice try - seven sent down for GBH, but the one who could afford a high-priced lawyer gets off for acting in self defence without charge. Hardly comparible, is it?

There's also the slight advantage of Gerrard's alleged crime being on ****ing film, for ****'s sake.

Ridiculous verdict.

So a persuasive lawyer got Gerrard off the hook? Harry must have hired one hell of a persuasive lawyer to get a jury to believe that he could forget about a couple hundred k in an off-shore account that was a 'gift' from an ex employer.

Unless you've got film of Redknapp tax dodging, then I don't think you're comparing similar cases, Red.
Anyone that actually kept up with Redknapp's case could see that it was a shambles.
It should never have got to court in the first place.

If the proof was so ****ing obvious he would have got sent down. Sure, we all know it was assault, the same way we (bar the blinkered spuds) no Harry was paid a bonus that he was liable to pay tax on.

Good of you to see it that way. It's certainly my opinion.

<doh>
You don't know what you're talking about, I'm afraid.
