He truly is a disgusting entity. Merely to look upon his repulsive, bulbous being almost causes me to vomit blood.

The man has a drink-driving conviction, how does he still have a job? In fairness a 4-0 loss would shock me, but neither would a narrow nUFC win or a bore draw. While Spurs are very much the favourites it could really go either way depending on what team turns up on the day. Not going into this game with the same sense of foreboding I had before games like the Chelsea game

Get your money on guys, it must be a sure thing.

You know how it is with these big shots with all the friends in high places.

Then again there's probably more chance of the men in white coats coming to carry Merson off to where he'll never be heard of again.

We can live in hope anyway.

Im thinking something along the lines of "What has been affecting your judgement here Paul. Was it the bump on the head you got from the crash or have you been pissed ever since?"

"We asked Soccer Saturday expert Paul Merson to look at the fixtures and give us his verdict on where the games will be won and lost."

    Expert? Really?

just because you played football professionally doesn't mean you have a fcking clue about how it works in the grand scheme. i could see us losing but 4 goals without reply with one of the leagues best hot shots in the squad playing alongside someone who could prove to be even better if his record is anythign to go by? pisspot.

I love how he talks about us overrunning Villa in their match preview, yet fails to even mention the game in ours, instead focusing on the Blackburn game...

Only Merson would have us down to lose 0-4 and then say that we have the ability to get a draw. <doh><doh><doh>

That's like predicting that Man City would thrash Wigan 4-0, and then saying 'but Wigan have the ability to get a draw'. It's just completely warped and makes no sense.

So he's gone for 4-0, but wouldnt be surprised if Tottenham won it 5-0... yet we're capable of a draw. Well clearly not you idiot, if you have us to get destroyed 5-0.

In other news; Lawrenson reckons its gonna be 2-0 which i guess is fair... Has compliments about us though.

    "Tottenham v Newcastle (1730 GMT)

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will be in a bubbly mood. He walked free from court this week after being found not guilty of tax evasion and he is being talked about as the next England manager after Fabio Capello's resignation.

Will speculation about losing Redknapp put Tottenham off their stride? No. They have got some outstanding players, who will just keep going between now and the rest of the season. They would have done that anyway, but they might even put extra effort in now in order to try to persuade their manager to stay.

As I've said, I dont see a reason why Redknapp couldn't do both jobs, though. Being England manager is not a full-time occupation as far as I'm concerned.

This should be a cracking game because, with their front line, Newcastle are a test for any team. Demba Ba is back and Papiss Demba Cisse marked his Premier League debut with that wonder goal against Aston Villa.

The Magpies are still missing a few players of course, and it will be interesting to see how many chances they manage to fashion here.

But it is obvious there is belief and spirit in their squad and they are extremely well coached. I look at teams when they don't have the ball and when they are under pressure to see how they are set up, and Newcastle's organisation is exceptional.

    Prediction: 2-0 "

Lawro has us down for a respectable 2-0 loss.

...he also has stuck with another Wolves win. Thats 39 points they would have in his world. Unbelievable....especially when you consider they are vs WBA who are class away from home and Wolves are dogsh*t at home.

Makes me laugh how EVERY week, a pundit talks about our good season as if it is in the past and will not continue the coming weekend. Have they not learnt yet, that we do actually have a decent team? I'm not saying we will win every week, far from it, but can they not just credit us for our position and attempt to have a vaguely positive outlook on our forthcoming match.
Lawro says 2-0. Has us 19 points behind what we actually have, in 12th, looking down.
Merson says 4-0. I suspect he has a similar predictions record. Appalling.
