Pick your starting line up and captain.
I will start by saying all the older players and has beens 'golden generation' players who have had their chance already I'd dump. This means dumping big names and also fringe players/subs with a lot of caps who haven't performed or are too old and past it now. I don't think they deserve anymore chances. I believe you need a lot of pace at international level in attack, something England have really lacked. It's easy to quickly get bodies behind the ball against a team incapable of a quick counter attack and who **** around with the ball in defence like England do.
My team:
---------------------Hart--------------------------
--Richards--Cahill------Lescott-------Baines------
-----------------------------------------------------
--------------------Parker(c)-----------------------
---Walcott--------------------------Sinclair-----------
------------------Chamberlain-----------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
------------Sturridge-----------Bent-------------------
In defence I'd make 10 men get behind the ball every time against a top team leaving either Bent or Sturridge up, and try to hit the opponent with a fast counter considering the amount of pace in the side. If the other team does play 451 and park the bus it won't be the end of the world as all the players in front of Parker are capable of taking 1 or 2 players on to create room for a pass, cross or shot. I'll probably get a lot of stick for this team, at least it's refreshingly young! I wasn't too sure about the CAM role no one sprung to mind. Chamberlain looks capable of playing there so I put him there. If there's a better option I'd play Chamberlain on the right and put Walcott on bench
