i dont care who they get for the job as long as he drops the likes of terry, cole, lampard, ferdinand etc.. its time for a new england squad, we've got the players to do it if they're given a chance. also would like to see the young arsenal lad oxlaid-chamberlain thrown into the deep end, looks a player.
It's got to be Phil Brown surely? He's available after being unfairly sacked by Preston despite a quite truly amazing managerial record at Deepdale. Brownie for England. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/7666672.stm
Shearer would probably be the ****test appointment I could think of. No management experience to speak of, and he's a tit.
Is that your attempt at being a wum or are you being fcuking serious? If you are being serious I vote that Sarge is recruited as his assistant!
If he (whoever he may be) picks him it'll be the wrong decision and Walcott comparisons will be made. If he doesn't pick him it'll still be the wrong decision because it's blatantly obvious he'd have won us the thing.
Sorry, but you keep basically saying that English football is just long ball. It's bollocks. The reason it's such a popular league is that there is all the skill of the Spanish League but at a higher tempo. All of the top English sides play good football and if you're talking about the national team in particular that makes even less sense; so far players like Carroll and Crouch have been ignored for small, more skillful players. Even the defenders are footballers rather than hoof merchants. Even if the new manager wanted to, he wouldn't have a lot of options to play long ball with.
The trouble is I can't see Redknapp dropping Lampard seeing as he's family, he needs to drop him also the likes of Terry and Ferdinand, Cole is still a top international player
Personally I think Terry is one of the most committed players around, I'd have him in my team any day. Ferdinand is also still a very classy defender, watch how often he has to go to ground, it isn't very often. Lampard still gets around the pitch like a 21 year old and can land a ball on your chip tray if he wants. They have this image of being ancient has-beens but they're still doing it week in, week out in the PL for top sides (David Luiz plays for Brazil, and Chelsea have Terry and Cahill both ahead of him now. We're a lot better off than some people think IMO. I think the biggest problem with all three of those players you've mentioned is injuries. They always seem to be out with some Folan-like niggle when England have a game.
If it's true that Mourinho is available in the summer they should persuade him to have a crack at the Euros, I'm probably in a minority on here but I'm not overkeen on Redknapp, I think tactically he will be found out at the highest level and Lampard will play every match with him in charge instead of being left out of the squad, AVB has the right idea at Chelsea, the likes of Lampard and Terry are yesterdays men.
Terry is still Chelsea's first choice CB and they still use Lampard often enough, last time the critics were out in force on his case he went and banged in a hat tricknext game. He's no spent force. Also whatever AVB's idea is it clearly hasn't been the right one because they're at the lowest point they've been for a few years under him. This is a great bit of proof that England fans will try to see things from the perspective they want to see. It's been cool for a while now to say that our best players are old and crap even when the evidence clearly suggests otherwise.
I disagree about Terry Premier League Tigers, he will be found out at international level, the Germans were laughing at him in the World Cup and the tactics they used in the 4-1 drubbing we got were specifically to get at him, they even came out and said so after the match but it was pretty evident to me watching the game that he was totally outclassed by the likes of Muller, Ozil etc. Two years on and he is even slower, but if we had the likes of Smalling and Jones at the back we would stand a great chance v the best international teams, Chelsea have to play Luiz to cover for Terry even though he is deficient himself and AVB has signed Cahill for a reason
Will have to disagree with you on that one mate, AVB knows Lampard is past his sell by date and Terry is crap at international level nowadays
I agree, i reckon both lampard and terry are crap now. The issue is they are not the only ones, gerrard has looked bad this season and even last (although he has been dealing with injuries) and Ferdinand is truly past it imo. Capello hasn't done great and he shoulda done better at the world cup but the fact of the matter is its now a harder job than it was when Capello took over because we don't really have any emerging stars that are anywhere near as good as what gerrard were.
I'd go for Pyscho as the next manager. Our team is too old, he brings through the youth plus has experience in the England set up. I'd give him it until the Euro's. After then, we'll see.
if martin o niel ever gets the england job i will stop supporting england . i was told he was the only manager in england who sis not wear a poppy/ is that true?
