Favourite player lists have been done to death on here, but I was wondering who's your favourite ,forgotten, Newcastle player? The one's that did a 'kin fantastic job for us, even if they weren't the greatest players ever, or 'nearly men'. The ones that were great while they were playing for us, but never get onto 'favourite' or 'greatest' player lists.

The two that immediately spring to mind for me are little David McCreery, not a player that could ever be described as being brilliant, but who as far as I can remember NEVER gace us less than 100% in every game, and Irving Natrass, an England nearly man and great at the back.

They don't even have to have been particularly good - sometimes you just get a liking for a player, sometimes despite all the evidence of your own senses that they're actually not that good!

Darren Ambrose had bags of potential was classed as one of sir bobby's for the future lads

souness didnt like him and let him go
always rated him

another would be olivier bernard as far as i can remember never put a foot wrong on the pitch

Lomana LuaLua...always was a fan of his even through the period where he didnt score for us for an eternity, and then grabbed the winner against Derby County in the 3-2 win from being 2-0 down (i think.) Will always remember that.

Olly Bernard too as he worked so well with Laurent Robert when he was here.
