Beautiful down-town Traralgon. Vic.Oz.
Latest comment from the Rapids board:

Quote:
"In other squad news, it looks increasingly likely that Caleb Folan will join the club soon. The Hull City striker has agreed terms on both sides of the deal, multiple sources at the Rapids and Hull have said. The Republic of Ireland international impressed while on preseason trial with the Rapids in Arizona and made it clear to MLSsoccer.com that he wanted to move to MLS."

Ho hum. Almost two weeks since it was announced that the transfer should be settled over the weekend.

Did they say which weekend

Their still reporting his imminent arrival over in the US:

Colorado Rapids

Can the MLS Cup champions repeat?

Like any champion in any sport, climbing the ladder the following season can be tougher than the original ascent. Colorado's case is interesting, though. With no major defections, the imminent signing of Hull City striker Caleb Folan and the addition of former Seattle winger Sanna Nyassi, means last year's MLS Cup champion actually improved and gained depth in the offseason. A number of things went the Rapids' way down the stretch and in the postseason, but there's no doubting the team's determination and chemistry. Despite being champions, expect the "no respect" card to be played all season.

A friend on the "Rapids" message Boards tell me that at "the party last night" (?) they were told that Caleb was due to arrive this week. They have a pre-season friendly on Wednesday prior to the season kick off on Saturday. Leaving it short for mine.

Folan has left City so is now a free agent to sign for anyone else just been on radio humberside and confirmed by the Hull Daily Fail sports editor on tonights program

Must be a done deal then, because leaving us now he can't sign for a European club (playing August to May seasons) until the summer.

You would expect some form of Club Statement.
After all, he was our first 1 million pound player.

Curiously as the first player we paid £1M for he wasn't the first player we agreed to pay £1M for and signed. (Marney thanks to the clause triggered by getting promoted to the PL)

....of course he was worth £1M, he got us promoted to the Premier League!...what more did you want from him, blood?....well you got that in abundance as well...

Why you constantly arse rape folan is beyond me. The guys 6ft but doesn't win as many headers as mclean, barmby or chester (who are all smaller), backs out of more tackles than bullard, is constantly offside and rarely puts in the performance that he's actually capable of. His last good game for me was our 5-1 hammering against tottenham last season.

I thought he was **** in that game. <laugh>

Folan played his super-sub part well in our promotion season, but overall he's been an expensive disappointment, I doubt anyone(other than 777) is sad he's gone.
