The date is set, the trial will begin with John Terrys defence having pleaded not guilty on his behalf today.

Interested to see what happens here and see what the evidence shows.

As I have always stated he is innocent until proven guilty, but I would take a dim view of him if it was proven to be the case.

Honestly, have you read anything about this or are you just on the wind up?

The fine is related to the Crown Prosecution Service, and the trial that they will conduct.

What the FA do after that is another story, but the recent Suarez case has set a precedent so it is possible that he will face having a criminal record and a prolonged suspension from the game.

You're forgetting one thing though....Suarez actually admitted using the language that led to his ban. Therefore FA had no choice but to ban him. If Terry admitted using such language FA would ban him too but he hasn't so innocent unless proven otherwise.

Is anyone who isn't a chavs fan surprised by this? How convenient this case has been pushed to the 9th of July.

  8. I note that one of the Klanfield mob had poked his nose into this business.

They probably see themselves as something as experts on this subject <whistle>

  9. I've started a thread on the Spurs board calling for the FA to ensure that Terry does not take any part in the Euros 2012.

To have Terry playing, let alone captaining England, would be highly provocative, and could render us a bigger laughingstock than we usually are.

How is it convenient? Means he has it hanging over him the entire season rather than getting it resolved early.

What exactly are you trying to say?? That the Court have listed the date to help Chelsea in some way. FFS.

When you consider how much racism there is in football across europe especially in Baltics & Spain how is playing JT during his trial likely to make us a laughing stock?

And as opposed to doorman beater Ledley King, drug cheat Rio, granny shagger Rooney, DJ decking Gerrard, Andy Carroll, Ashley Cole, etc.

There are plenty of unsavioury characters and incidents with England players. Why just target Terry? Especially when yet to be found guilty?

    Well said.

No, to have a man captain England who allegedly made racist comments is a joke and insult to England. If he is found innocent, it's better to get it over and done with now rather for it to linger over the whole England team. If the FA did have any sense, they'd make sure Terry doesn't play for England or represent them in any way.

  16. Indeed. I'd get rid of the lot of them and pick a completely new bunch (with a different manager, of course).

But what if England drop Terry, and then he gets proven innoncent?

Well the final of said competition is 8 days prior to his case being heard, or at least the first day of it, so I reckon you could be fat out of luck there.
