This isn't rocket science, mate. Half the season has gone. We have a side that plays football well enough to get promoted. We won't get promoted for one simple reason: WE DON'T SCORE GOALS.

If you want to bury your head in sand go ahead, but the statistics speak for themselves.

Not scoring goals got us in the play off spot after one half of the season... why would it not keep us there after another? that's not rocket science

Simple in the first half of the season Fryatt scored goals, in the second half he is not.

I will, we have a young team, if we don't go up this year, we'll have a good chance next year. We won't finish in bottom half. If you want a little bet on it, then I'm game.

doesn't matter, we've not been scoring loads of goals since the season started and it got us in playoffs, so why moan now? I'm ****ing glad we're not getting hammered at home like leeds did today...

we have done well to get where we are, but in the long run a lack of goals will catch up with you, you cant plan a full season on robert koren smacking one in every week.
and while i appreciate its very early days, if king is the answer, id like to know the question, makes mcleans touch look like zidane.

I appear to have travelled back in time to this time last year.

of course goals are everything but our fans' record seems to be stuck on the same song no matter who the manager is or which league we're in.
We have currently 5 strikers in the squad. I agree that they're not firing on all cylinders but what do you do? we can't keep adding to the squad up front. players like simpson and adebola won't get a chance, partnerships like fryatt/mclean might break if one starts on the bench for a while.
Every time a new player comes in, you risk changing the atmosphere in the changing room, the relationship between certain players.
I say stick with them, get behind them and they'll come good if fans are patient, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

Just listen to yourselves, when the window closes (loan window) , buying talk will cease, only to be replaced by formation talk and upfront partnerships talk and moan.
Every game we have (even the ones we actually win) , if we don't score enough or create enough chances, people start talking about changing it up, playing someone like Ghilas or adebola to "mix it up" , changing formations every bloody game. We did that last year and all it did was create inconsistency.

Fryatt needs a breather, granted but we will score, just be ****ing patient. We're still there or thereabouts and we will be in april guaranteed but I wish the knee jerk squad would tone it down.

But it's true? we've only just managed to almost get rid of the dead rubbish like BULLARD, mcshane, harper etc... it takes time. We will finish higher than we did last year imo. That's an improvement
I'm sorry if PL bandwagon fans like you are desperate to get back so you can go to Old trafford but i'm happy with how the club is now running, the owners that are in, the manager and the team we have. There's some bloody good teams in the league this year, so much so that none of us seem to agree on who will finish top 2. We're not man city or west ham. We're building a strong foundation. Most likely to get away from your fave PB and his lapdog PD's philosophy of splashing and praying.

I want us to go up this year but up until now I cannot accept that where we are, what we have achieved, warrants boos or disappointment.
I'm very happy with how things are going but a lot of fans seem impatient and have ever-increasing high standards.

You cant afford to be patient in the middle of the season, thats the problem! If you dont act on a problem then opportunities pass you by like they did today. We have 'been patient' for one and a half seasons now waiting and hoping that eventually we will turn it around and start scoring goals but it just hasnt happened. By now we could and should be top of this league which is where we should be striving to be, not just settling for the play offs. This league is there for the taking and when people finally realise that maybe they will realise why fans are complaining.

Stewart and Simpson worked wonderfully together last season, I'd like to see that again rather than playing the waiting game with Fryatt.. drop him for 2 or 3 games. Worked very well last time, he came back all guns blazing.

i don't mean on the pitch but behind the scene ricardo. People underestimate the importance of having a group of mates, that have a good bond. If you keep introducing new elements to it, it can really **** things up and we have a bunch of strangers or mercenaries on our hands, as we did in our last year in the PL

I wouldn't mind seeing simpson but then if he doesn't score a bloody hat trick on his debut people will say "get rid" let's try fryatt and koren up front, or brady and adebola. it's all knee jerk stuff. even if we'd spend £3million. if whoever we'd got doesnt score then what? then you moan about the scouts... it's just ****ing never ending
always something to ****ing moan about. i'd be ****ing annoyed as a player or manager.

To be fair I've been backing Simpson and moaning at this board about his lack of appearances and opportunities for a whole 12 months <laugh> so the whole knee jerk thing doesn't quite apply to be in this instance.

Don't you think Forest fans said that this time last year? Or Bristol City fans after they lost to us at Wembley? Ask a Cardiff fan if year-by-year improvement is guaranteed.

What if Koren decides he's fed up in the summer or a massive club comes in for Chester? There goes the immense potential this team has. Our status as a promotion chasing team could easily disappear over the summer, because this great side make the playoffs but get knocked out in the semis despite creating 30 chances across the two legs.

I must be misunderstanding this. Are you actually saying that the manager shouldn't be looking to change the strikers that haven't scored a league goal between them in almost two months because it might affect their friendship with each other?
