Well an injured arm is an improvement on what we've got, the opposition fans keeps saying we're armless up front.
premiertiger, what was the thinking behind dropping Stewart? Injury or tactical, and if tactical, WHY?! I don't see why it's so wrong for someone to suggest it'd be worth playing Adebola. It's obviously not going to happen but that doesn't mean he can't suggest it. We've been crying out for a target man for over a year and now we eventually have one it seems our new manager doesn't like him, presumably on account of him being over 5 foot tall. My ideal team would be: Mannone Rosenior Hobbs Chester Dudgeon Evans McKenna Brady Koren Stewart McLean But we know Dawson will play, and Brady will probably be out injured (cheers for that Stuart Attwell) so I'd put Simpson in personally but it seems Nick doesn't want to do that. It's annoying that whilst accepting we aren't getting any signings we also have to accept that anyone on the fringes like Simpson won't be given a chance and we're seemingly just going to stick with the same old impotent attack (or drop Stewart, wtf?)
It wasn't just Nick that didn't like the look of Adebola, he was very much a fringe player for NP and only has only started 2 games all season under two sets of management teams. I guess like it or not, NP likes to play football, and Adebola doesn't fit in to his plans, as I have said before all we can do is give NB time to prove if his choices are right, and in the main, so far, they have been. Regarding Stewart, it was tactical on Saturday, he is a young lad, coming back after a very serious long term injury and he has pretty much started every game since his return at Derby. Ask Nick, the club fitness staff or even Cam and he will tell you he has been suffering physically over the past few games and that has been affecting his football performance, which has been clear for all to see. There is no doubt everyone at the club rates him very highly but playing him regardless is not in anyone's best interest. The initial plan was for him to be on the bench today, but that might have changed depending on Brady and Kings fitness.
Really don't like the sound of playing one upfront, even if we have the likes of stewart and king supporting. Although Mclean battles like hell to get the ball and does a decent job of holding it up he needs someone quick up there with him which will never be the case with Fryatt. As a few of you have said, Matty could do with dropping and give King a chance up front with Mclean. From what we've seen of King it looks as though he can do a job getting in behind their defence or just causing them a scare by running at them.. 2-0 city tonight, king to get his first goal and koren to score in the only way he does!
With four decent strikers now and a lack of goals I don't see how we can afford to leave just one up front. --------------Mannone------------- -Rosenior--Chester--Hobbs--Dawson- -------------McKenna--------------- Stewart-----------------------Brady --------------Koren----------------- -------McLean-----Simpson--------- Bench: Carson, Cooper, Dudgeon, Olofinjana/Evans, King. If Brady isn't available then either Dudgeon or King on the wing with Fryatt making the bench.
Didn't rate King on saturday. I'd really like to see Simpson given a chance, even if it's just from the bench.
Doncaster look all over the place and there club is in a right old mess. Billy Sharp Gone, 4 board members Gone and now John Ryan says that players will have to be sold. IF BIG IF I KNOW City get an early goal then this could well be the whacking that many incl. me have been predicting. 7-0(with an early goal) otherwise 2-0 max. But a City win 100% and 4th spot as we head off to Pompey on saturday. I shall be standing on a future block of flats thats for sure down there. Yet another club in a right old mess. UTT Barmbys Army Barmbys Army.
How could anyone leave Fryatt out altogether? He came off the bench to make the winner in the last league game. Our front line options, Fryatt, McLean, King, Brady, Stewart and Simpson are the best we've had for ages. Good luck picking 3 of them, Nick.
I misread the punctuation on that, so when I read it this is what I read: "...now John Ryan says that players will have to be sold IF, BIG IF I KNOW City get an early goal. This could well be the whacking..."
I'm putting it down to the cold (I'm sat at home waiting for the plumber to come and finish putting my new boiler in).
"whacking" is bad for your eyesight ...........over time you could go blind, didn't your Mother warn you!!
oh dear sorry to hear that. Putting the boiler in ? is that a new meaning to the mother in law is popping round. ?
I knew a visual gag was doomed. Jimmy Edwards is one of those people like Margaret Rutherford and Clive Dunn that spent their whole life being the same age.
Nah, it's what your friends say when your girlfriend moves in if they think she's a bit clingy. please log in to view this image My place has been one disaster after another for a couple of months now. Had the boiler go, then I needed repairs doing on the roof when we had the strong winds, and then half an electrical circuit went off. When we took the old boiler out yesterday the floorboards underneath were like a soggy Shredded Wheat (it was a water tank that cracked in the boiler), so once I've got them dried out I might find I need the floor repairing as well. The only positive to it is that I've just started working again on top of studying, I got told that I'd got the job about an hour before the first disaster struck.
