I don't want to get dragged into this but Chuck WAS Commander-in-Chief of the paras at the time (I know Hooper said still is - he still is CIC of 10 regiments).

Relatives of the murdered wrote to him to ask him to condemn the actions of individual paras that day - they received a letter from his private secretary telling them that it was "necessary to move on, rather than dwell on past tragedies".

CiC would imply he had some sort of control or was resposible for deployment, training etc, nothing could be further from the truth thank God.

As for his Secretary's letter I suspect he was right regarding (moving on) as it was 40 years ago and Chuck was neither responsible nor accountable.
